Is Milestone Credit Card A Good Card?

This is one of the better unsecured credit card for rebuilders. It has a reasonable annual fee and does not charge any one-time application or processing fee and monthly fees. Rather than apply first and risk a hard pull, you first pre-qualify (only soft pull) and if you do pre-qualify, you can then decide if you want to proceed to get the card.

It is ok to apply for this card even if you have just emerged from bankruptcy and there do not check your income. However, it is best that you have a score between 600 and 640 for best chances of approval.

For those of you looking to add another credit card to your rebuilding efforts, this is one card you can consider.

My credit was not in the best of shape before Covid 19 and since the pandemic hit, I was fortunate to be considered an essential worker and had a job. My income was ok as well. I decided to really work on my credit and decided to get an unsecured credit card. I got rejected by Credit One and even First Premier. After getting pre-approved, I pulled the trigger and got approved. My annual fee was $75.

My score jumped 25 points after I got approved and they do report after the first statement. They also do bill you the annual fee on your first statement. Like others have said here, there is no phone app and the website is dated. But after using this for a few months, my score has improved and it is now about 630. I do charge about $58 a month (my hulu bill) and pay it off every month.

I got of bankruptcy during May, at the height of Covid 19 and I lost my job. I took unemployment for a while but managed to get a job in July. My score coming out of BK was 560. I decided to go straight for an unsecured credit card rather than a secured card and decided on Milestone.

I tried the pre-approval and did get pre-approved indeed. Then I decided to pull the trigger and got approved. My annual fee was $35. They billed me that amount during the first billing statement. So far this card has been ok. Like almost everyone here has said, their website is dated and they have no app. But they still approved me after BK and only a short "recent income" history. So I am grateful.

Do not get this card. Not sure if other folks experience this but for me, they put a 14 day hold after I paid my bills. I checked the terms and conditions and they do say they might put a hold on your payment for up to 14 days. That means you have to wait two weeks for your payment to clear until your credit limit is restored. I now only charge a very small amount every month to the card. None of my other cards have such issues.

I got approved with a $75 annual fee. The starting limit was $300. My feedback is quite similar to others here. The credit limit will not increase. They do not have an app and their website is not the most snazzy.

Having said that, this card does serves it's purpose. I got this card after already being approved for the Opensky Secured card. After I got approved, I saw my score bump up by about 30 points. After using this card (with the Opensky) for about a year or so, my scores have increased to over 600.

This is actually a decent card for those of us with challenging scores. Yes, the limit is low and does not increase. But it is better than First premier, total, first access and reflex. These other cards charge an application fee, annual fee and monthly fee. With Milestone, you only have to pay an annual fee.

This card has served it's purpose. The good thing is that they only charge you an annual fee. Other cards charge monthly fee as well. The bad thing is that the credit limit does not increase.

After using this card for over a year, I got the Capital One Platinum (no annual fee) with a $2,000 limit. I canceled Milestone after it had served it's purpose.

My credit took a dive because of a job loss and some unpaid bills. As part of the rebuild process, I got this card. Before that, I had started off with the capital one secured. The reason I went with this card is because it was unsecured and it did not come with all sorts of nasty fees. Yes, I have to pay a $75 AF. But other cards were worse (monthly fees and all that).

The AF gets billed the first statement so my suggestion would be to pay it off immediately. I also had my payment put on hold for a couple of times for about a week. Customer service is definitely not US based. This was not a recurring problem and I only called CSR once.

Having said all that, the card has served it's purpose and I will be cancelling it once I get a couple of no AF cards with a decent limit.

It is ok to start rebuilding with this card. Once your scores improve, just get capital one. Your credit line will not increase so even if you get a decent AF on this, eventually, you'll need other cards.

My credit took a hit and my scores went down to the high 500s. To rebuild, I first got a opensky secured card. After 4 months, it bumped my score up to about 600. The milestone card is my second card. I got approved with a $75 annual fee and $300 credit limit. I might try to open one more trade line. But I'll be using these 2 cards now to rebuild. I only spend about $30 on both cards each and pay them off in full every month. They both report to all 3 bureaus.

I have been reading that you need 3 trade lines or credit cards to rebuild. I first got a cap one secured and put $500 into it. Next came fingerhut (because it had no annual fee). I got $200 limit for that and it was bumped up to $400. Then I applied for this card. I got approved for $75 annual fee version and $300 limit. I'll stick with these 3 cards for the moment. I'll make another round of app when my score gets into the high 600s.

This is an ok card to start out. I got approved for $300 and all I do is to put $25 on the account every month and pay it off. After about 6 months, my score improved to over 600. I managed to get the capital one platinum and quicksilver. These are much better cards. But the Milestone card has served it's purpose and I will be canceling it soon.

All cards targeted at bad credit folks like us are not great. But they do serve a purpose, which is to help us rebuild. This card is no different. And we all know that we need to get at least 3 or 4 trade lines so even if we get 2 great cards, we'll end up with one that is not so good. After doing a lot of research, I've come to the conclusion that there are worse cards out there.

I myself got this card and all I do is charge my bills to it and end up putting $55 on the card a month. I PIF so the interest rate does not bother me at all. That, together with my secured card and 2 other cards (credit one and fingerhut) has helped me increase my score by over 80 points.

The downside of this card is that they do not give credit line increases whereas both my credit one and fingerhut did.

I was really surprised to be approved for this card because my scores were hovering around slightly below 500. After 6 months, they had gone up to 580. I then applied and got approved for 2 capital one cards and said goodbye milestone. It did serve it's purpose.
