Is Milestone Credit Card A Good Card?

This is one of the better unsecured credit card for rebuilders. It has a reasonable annual fee and does not charge any one-time application or processing fee and monthly fees. Rather than apply first and risk a hard pull, you first pre-qualify (only soft pull) and if you do pre-qualify, you can then decide if you want to proceed to get the card.

It is ok to apply for this card even if you have just emerged from bankruptcy and there do not check your income. However, it is best that you have a score between 600 and 640 for best chances of approval.

For those of you looking to add another credit card to your rebuilding efforts, this is one card you can consider.

My credit was not in the best of shape before Covid 19 and since the pandemic hit, I was fortunate to be considered an essential worker and had a job. My income was ok as well. I decided to really work on my credit and decided to get an unsecured credit card. I got rejected by Credit One and even First Premier. After getting pre-approved, I pulled the trigger and got approved. My annual fee was $75.

My score jumped 25 points after I got approved and they do report after the first statement. They also do bill you the annual fee on your first statement. Like others have said here, there is no phone app and the website is dated. But after using this for a few months, my score has improved and it is now about 630. I do charge about $58 a month (my hulu bill) and pay it off every month.

I got of bankruptcy during May, at the height of Covid 19 and I lost my job. I took unemployment for a while but managed to get a job in July. My score coming out of BK was 560. I decided to go straight for an unsecured credit card rather than a secured card and decided on Milestone.

I tried the pre-approval and did get pre-approved indeed. Then I decided to pull the trigger and got approved. My annual fee was $35. They billed me that amount during the first billing statement. So far this card has been ok. Like almost everyone here has said, their website is dated and they have no app. But they still approved me after BK and only a short "recent income" history. So I am grateful.

Do not get this card. Not sure if other folks experience this but for me, they put a 14 day hold after I paid my bills. I checked the terms and conditions and they do say they might put a hold on your payment for up to 14 days. That means you have to wait two weeks for your payment to clear until your credit limit is restored. I now only charge a very small amount every month to the card. None of my other cards have such issues.

This card is ok. They did approved me when I got rejected by Credit One. But I still cannot believe they do not have an app. I also called CSR for a credit line increase and was told that they will never give you a CLI.

This was my second rebuilder after getting a fingerhut account. I was approved for both of these cards despite being denied by credit one, capital one and even first premier. I had an ok experience with this card. There were a couple of things that bugged me but they were not deal killers. The first is that I did experience payment holds for 7 days. Their website is truly old fashion and outdated. They also do not increase your credit limit. But you are getting this card simply to rebuild your credit and in that aspect, it does it's job. It reported to my reports immediately after the first bill was sent to me (which included the annual fee).

As a rebuilder, I would say that this card is "ok". There are worse cards out there that charge you an arm and a leg on fee. For this card, I had a $75 AF, but did not have to pay any monthly fees or processing fees. But they do increase your credit limits and they also do not have a mobile app.

The good thing about this card for me was that I was approved and my AF was quite ok ($75). They also do report to all 3 credit agencies and my scores have gone up by using this card. Like many have mentioned here, just charge a bit every month to the card and pay it off in full. Also, like others mentioned, they do not increase your credit limit and their website is so 1990s!

This card will help rebuilders. It will be useful up to a certain point.

For rebuilders, I would say that this card does it's job of helping you get a line, reports to bureaus and helps you with your score. Mine certainly increased after getting this card and using it. The annual fee seems ok compared to other cards that also charge monthly processing fee etc.

But your credit line never increases. After getting this card, I managed to get my hands on fingerhut and credit one and eventually a capital one card. I started with $250 on fingerhut and it is now at $700. Started with $300 on credit one and now my limit is $700. Started with $300 on capital one and now my limit is $1500.

I have since canceled my milestone card. It did serve it's purpose and the fees weren't too bad. But just use this as a stepping stone to cards that give you CLI.

I got this card when my score was about 631. AF was $59, got 23% APR and limit of 300. After I was approved, my card took about 5 weeks to arrive. Once I activated it, they sent me a bill with the $59 AF and I had 2 weeks to pay. Here is my experience with this card.

Pros
1. After I got my card, it started reporting and my scores went up 30 points in all 3 bureaus.
2. AF was not too bad.

Cons
1. I got payment hold for about 1 week.
2. Website is not that great.
3. they do not give credit line increases.

I guess it was worth bumping my scores up 30 points and more after I used it. But once I got a couple of capital one cards, I closed it.

I have a relatively good experience with this card except for the fact that when I pay in full, my payment gets put on hold for about a week. Fortunately for me, I only spending $30 a month on the card since for me, this card is solely to rebuild my credit. So even if there is a payment hold, I still have enough credit line. Do not max out on this card.

I have this card. My annual fee is $59, rate is 23.9% I think and the initial limit was $300. When the first bill came, they charge the annual fee and I PIF. I seldom use it, maybe $20 each month. I plan to have it for a couple of years to rebuild and then close it when I can get better cards.

So my credit was really bad and they approved me. My annual fee was $99 and the credit limit was $300. It's been close to 2 years and like others said here, they do not increase your credit limit. Their website is really outdated and 90s looking and they have no app!

Having said all that, my score went up over 50 points just from charging $50 a month and paying it off in full. So it has served it's purpose. And since I have just gotten a capital one unsecured card and barclaycard, I will be saying goodbye soon.

This was one of the easiest cards to get. But after a year, I realize that they have not increased my limit. I checked online and called them and was told they do not increase credit limits. I also have a Credit One card and was given an increase after only 6 months.
