Instead, the only requirement is that your income must exceed your expenses by the amount of security deposit you intend to fund. If you FICO scores are at the 400 level, then this is a great credit card to start your rebuilding journey.

The Applied Bank secured credit card will aprove you even if you FICO scores are 400, 430, 450 or 480. Like the other cards on this page, no hard inquiries are performed and so your credit score does not matter. You will be approved for the card and you only have to fund the minimum security deposit of $200 and your card will be delivered to you. It is also one of the rare credit cards with a 9.9% regular APR.

The Self Credit Builder and Secured Visa is for those of you who are cash strapped and need to build up a savings fund. This is how it works. You first set up a credit builder account and deposit money in it (you will build your credit as you deposit the money). Once you have deposited enough in this account, you can get a secured credit card. There is hard inquiries for both setting up the credit builder account and opening the secured credit card so those of you with credit scores around the 400, 450 area will be able to open your account and start your rebuilding journey.

The Chime Credit BUilder Secured Visa is one of the most unique secured credit cards. You will first need to open a Chime Mobile Banking account and set up a recurring direct deposit. Once you have direct deposited $200 with 365 days, you can open a secured credit card. Opening a Chime Mobile Banking Account and Credit Builder Secured Card does not involve any hard inquiries and so those of you with credit scores in the 400 range will be approved. The secured credit cards works like a traditional secured card in the sense that you have to transfer money from your savings account into your credit builder account. This amount will be your security deposit and credit limit. However, unlike tradtional secured credit cards, you can actually use this security deposit to pay your bills on your card (which you have to pay in full). Once you use up all your security deposit, you simply have to "top up" your credit builder account again.

Go2Bank Secured Visa does not perform any hard inquiries and so those of you with 400, 425, 450, 480 credit score will be able to get it. You do however, have to set up a GO2Bank mobile banking with them and set up a recurring direct deposit. Once you have direct deposited $100 into your account, you can get the secured card simply from your mobile app. The minimum deposit is very low at $100 and there is also no annual fee. For those of you in the 400 FICO score range, this is a good card to consider if you do not mind opening an account with them and potentially changing your direct deposit to them.

Net First Platinum is merchandise credit card that lets you shop at their online store www.thehorizonoutlet.com. This card does not perform any credit inquiries and you will be approved as long as you have a debit card. Those with 400 or 450 score will get approved. There is a monthly fee to pay but you get perks like Roadside Assistance. The starting limit is very generous as well (you start off with $750 credit limit) and they have a track record of increasing your credit limit up to $3,000. It reports to Equifax so you will build your credit with this Bureau.
