I normally use points as a statement credit. I last used 20000 points and had $200 credited as a statement credit to my card. This happened after the final payment. It was all done online and it was easy to do. On the celebrity home page, www.celebritycruises.com/celebrity-cruise-credit-card, click "already a card holder", then on the next page just click "redeem my cruise rewards" and it is really easy from there.

Celebrity is one of my favorite cruises and I decided to get this card to earn more points. I use the points to redeem for statement credits. I prefer it this way. But you have to have made your final payment before you could use it this way. If not, then you could redeem for OBO.

I sail with Celebrity once a year. I decided to get this card since I think I will be doing it year after year. I also applied because I wanted to get the $300 discount you can get if you spend $5000 within 60 days. I also like the fact that there is no foreign transaction fee on the card so I could use this on my next European cruise. You can also get 10% discount on premium beverage package and private journeys.

We've been retired for 2 years now and it looks like Celebrity Cruise is going to be our thing. I put all our expenses on the card and pay it off in full every month. I was able to us 50,000 points for $500 off our latest cruise.

Just some advice here on booking. I find that it is best to book your cruise with BOA travel. You could book with the cruise but would have to order the certificate and turn it in. The best bang for the buck is to get a discount. I have given up trying to book a specific cruise on the MyCruiseRewards with points because you always need way more points than the price of the cruise. Remember that the points can never be used and cover the taxes.
The best way to use this card is also to put all your spending on this card. If you are like me a take a couple of cruises a year, then you will save at least a few hundred dollars.
