I've had this card for about a year and a half. I did pay the $125 fee. At first I was not going to do it but this was the only card that I could get at the time. I now the proud owner of a Capital One MC and Merrick Bank Visa Credit Cards. I received these after my credit score rose. I feel Verve has served it's purpose and I plan to close the account this year. It helped my credit score shoot up fast. I only charge small amounts to keep my credit score rising and pay the balance off each month. I also forgot that I have just recently received a pre-approved vehicle offer.

I was rejected by almost every card that I applied for. I did not want to apply for a secured cards because I did not want to put down a large deposit. Verve approved me and despite the high fees, I used the card for a year and a half. There are other cards with lower fees. But this is the price of rebuilding your credit. Just charge a little a month and pay it off in full. Sooner or later, you will get offers when your score improves.

I am giving this card a four star because of the credit limit I get. Yes, the fees are are high and you are billed $125 immediately when you get approved. But I had to do the same for First Premier (which had an application fee) and Credit One as well. But both first premier and credit one only started me off with $300. Verve gave $500 which allowed me to use the card more.
