Is The Opensky Credit Card Good?

In our opinion, this is one of the best credit card for those of you who have really bad credit and have been denied from other cards. The key feature of this card is that there is no check check so you do not risk any hard pull at all. All they need is to verify your identity. It also reports as unsecured (which appears as normal "credit card" in your credit reports).

You also do not need a bank account to deposit your refundable security deposit check. You can do so with a debit or prepaid card, Western Union, Snail Mail check or money order. In fact, funding your deposit by debit or prepaid card is the fastest method and you get your card sooner.

If you have already been rejected by other unsecured or even secured credit cards, this card is a great option to rebuild.

I had this card for 2 years and everything went well. However, I had problems closing my account. I called customer service rep to close the account At that time, there was a $30 left on my account. So I transferred $30 from my bank account. The rep acknowledged that and closed the account. I thought that was the end of the story.

A few days later, I got an email saying I still had $30 left and they charged me a late fee. I called out customer service and explained the whole situation to them. She said that the $30 was not paid but agreed to waive that late fee. I thought this was all settled again until I got another email with the same story.

I have not resolved this but I am giving this a 1-star rating for this experience. To be fair, this card helped improved my credit score from low 500s to 710 now.

I had problems closing the account. I had to wait a couple of months to get my money back and they I kept getting charged for statements on a closed account. Customer service was absolutely useless.
