I am a little disappointed that the 10% redemption bonus is going to be 5%. I also never used trip it pro until I got this card and I found it really useful. So I am very disappointed that I will no longer get a complimentary subscription. I will still keep this card though, but am a tad unhappy about the changes.

I researching travel and miles cards and after doing a lot of comparisons, I have come to the conclusion that this card beats most frequent flyer cards (for me at least since I cannot be bothered with things like getting elite status, free lounge etc). This is now my main card.

First, let me state all the things I like about this card. Firstly, nothing beats the rewards. Points post very quickly into your account and the website has improved and easy to use. It's good for travel too since there is no foreign transaction fee and it has chip and pin.
Now for the not so good part. This card is a bit over zealous with regards to fraud protection. Got declined for an overseas charge once. But I also have been declined at Walmart and some stores in the mall. To me, this is just ridiculous. If they could just sort out this issue, then I would rank this card miles ahead of others.

I will be taking a trip to Europe and wanted to offset some of the cost. After doing a ton of research, I settled on this card because of the sign up bonus, 2X points and Chip and Pin. The online application was easy and I was approved instantly.

I got this card because I was attracted to the Chip and Pin feature versus the Chip and Signature feature that is common in other cards. For those who are curious, I have got a 3 year credit history with a 770 score (thereabouts). Income is 60k. Got a limit of $5k. So far, the card is ok, and I've gotten my 40k bonus.

Earlier this week, I applied for the Barclays Arrival Elite version but was not instantly approved. Instead, I got the wait for 7-10 day message. I called the re-consideration line at 866.408.4064 within a few minutes after I got that message. I ended up speaking to 2 different CSR. The first thing they did was to verify credit reports. They then proceed to ask me questions like residency status, home address and status and information about my other credit lines like my auto loan and even my mortgage. I was finally approved for $5000 in CL which I think is a little low. But I was really looking forward to getting this card because of the no foreign transaction fee and also because I could track my FICO score with this card. I should be able to get my sign up bonus within this month and maybe I'll report on that.

I finally decided to pull the trigger and applied online for this card. I got the following message:
" Thank you for your recent application. We're in the process of reviewing the information you provided for your Barclaycard Arrival MasterCard application.
Please keep in mind it may take up to 10 business days to process your application. There is no need to reapply. If you provided an email address, we will send you an email upon review of your application. Please feel free to check back as this page will display the most recent status updates."
I called recon and was approved for $8k. Looking forward to getting that bonus.

My score was 703 when I applied and got $3k in limits. I also got the World Mastercard version rather than the 'elite' world mastercard. I was really curious as to why that was the case.
A call to CSR revealed that the 'elite' version is made available only to those who get a $5k and above CL.
I am quite pleased with this card as the value of the points is actually 2.2%. The points post quickly (as did my bonus 40k). I can also use it with any travel aggregators to book my flights.
I will ask for a CLI about maybe 1 year down the road and hopefully get the 'elite' version.

Applied and got 15k for a credit line. I spent the $1000 and got the 40000 bonus points very promptly. I have already used some miles to book a pretty cheap flight to Europe and I discovered that I could my points for the taxes (which I did).
I am already planning ahead with my next trip and being able to earn 2X points is really great.

I have been impressed by this card and Barclays in general. Applied online and was approved pretty quickly after I submitted the application. The points accrue quickly (since it is 2X) and and also after the transaction happens (rather than on statement date). I found them easy to redeem as well.
The one thing that I do not like is that there were a couple of false positives when they put my card on fraud alert. One was in Walmart (of all places). If they could be less over zealous with it, then I would have given this card a 5 star rating rather than a 4 star.

Before I applied and got approved for this card, I had the Barclays Rewards for about 8 months. I did not initially get approved and called the backdoor number. After answering questions about why I wanted the card when I already had one of their cards, (2X points doh!!!), I got approved.

Used to fly with Delta and United often with my company. But was unhappy because it is almost impossible to get award seats with Delta on their super save award charts. The value was never worth it. Delta will be switching (and i believe United too) to miles awarded for ticket price and not distance traveled. That was the last straw for me. After reading up a lot on travel credit cards, it was a toss up between this card and the Capital One Venture. I chose this over Cap One because of the 10% bonus, trip-it pro subscription (which I use and find useful) and the free fico score. I also found out after the card that the points post very quickly to your account (much like what others have been saying). My score was in the high 700s when I applied and got approved for 12k.

I used to have the VA (Virgin America) card when it was with Barclays. When it switched over to comerica bank, I got this card as a "replacement". But I did not get the 40k bonus! So I called up CSR to see if they would give me the sign up bonus and the answer was no. I was told to apply again! So I did and I got approval and for a brief period, I ended up with 2 of these. I ended up combining credit lines and canceling one of them (after I got the 40k points off course). After having used a dedicated frequent flyer card, I would say that I much prefer this card because I can book whatever flights I want.

The card that I used prior to this was the blue sky preferred amex. It had an annual fee and I was earning 2X points for certain things. The rest was 1X. When I found out that this card was 2X on everything, it became a no brainer. I am happy with this card.

I really like this card for a few reasons. Firstly, your points post almost immediately when you make a purchase with the card. So when you log in online, the number of points you have earned is pretty much up to date. Secondly, when I redeemed the points for my last airline ticket, I did get the 10% posted back into my account. Having had an Amex card, I think Barclays could improve their website a little better and also perhaps their customer service. I have called them twice only but compared to the CSRs from Amex, they could using a little more training. Having said all that, this is great card. Got a decent CL as well though I had higher limits from other cards.

Applied online and was approved instantly for $12,000, and 0% for one year. . Score was 781. I checked my reports and found out that they pulled my TransUnion report, but also reported to all three bureaus even before I got the card.
My points were also processed very quickly and I like that very much.

The reason I applied for this card was because they did not charge any transaction fee and I was taking my Masters in an international college abroad. I applied online and got the dreaded pending message. I called the recon line and found out that I was denied because of high utilization (about 35%). I explained to the rep how I intended to pay this down and also gave her my income details. After being put on hold for a minute or so, I was approved for $5k limit. Having my limit this low meant that I had to spread out my $3k spend over the next 2.5 months to get the 40k bonus miles. But it was totally worth it and the bonus miles posted the very next day in my account.

When I got this card, my score was about 675 (depending on which bureau it was). I was not really expecting to be approved. But I was and the $4.5k CL was a surprise for me too. I have a couple old collections that will be dropping off from my report soon. But they were old medical bills that were like a couple of hundred dollars and an old doctors bill for $75. What I like about this card is that you earn 2% and even for a not so super spender like me, the points do add up very fast.

I initially got the Arrival Card. Got the 40k bonus after the $1k spend (which was required). I continued to use the card as my primary card and since then have accumulated about 30k before I use the points for an overseas trip. The card name was changed to Plus as well. A few weeks after my overseas trip, I got upgraded to the "elite" version, which was nice. I am now earning my way towards my second trip!

Practically speaking, the 2% rewards is the best thing is that you just use the card and earn that 2%. Prior to this card, I have and use the Chase Freedom. I am constantly trying to figure out the 5% rewards which change every 3 months. And I also have to sign up every 3 months (which was starting to get on my nerves a little). So as of now, I am almost using this card exclusively because I do not have to worry about when and where to use the card (though having said that, Chase had some great 5% retail rewards during the holiday season).

My first impression of this card is very good. Applied online and was instantly approved. I like the double rewards and the fact that your points are posted after each transaction rather than during the billing statement like some of my other cards. Would certainly recommend this.
