I started with this card when I had no credit history and deposited $1000. I have always paid on time and in full and after two and a half years, I finally graduated to an unsecured card. I was told the deposit will be refunded within 30 days. With the 2 years, my credit score has gone from 503 to 695. I have also gotten 3 unsecured credit cards with decent limits. I also got a car loan and a $220,000 mortgage. It seems like Wells takes forever to graduate you and looking from some of the comments, 6 months or even one year is a pretty short time to graduate for Wells from my experience. You have to be patient with them but it is worth it.

I applied for this card to rebuild my credit. I decided on a $300 deposit and limit. Most of the time, I paid in full. On occasions, I carried a balance. I was over the limit once and late for payment for a couple of days. Having said all that, I graduated to an unsecured card after a year and a half. I've read about quick and slow graduations and even no graduations so to be honest, I do not know how does Wells work. But it has worked out for me.
