This was the first card I was able to get after a poor credit history from years previous to acquiring. They gave me a moderate limit to start (I think it was $1,000 at the time?), and after about six months they offered me an increase, and continued to do so as time went by and my credit improved through consistent use and paying my balance in full every month. I now have a credit score of 804 on Transunion, and I'm telling you, I started in a lousy place (ex had run up bills in my name years ago). When I was first approved, I decided to use it as you would use your debit card, for all of my everyday purchases, and then pay the full balance at the end of the month, to avoid any interest fees. I hate paying large monthly fees to my bank just to have an account that allows me to use it in any way, so I opted for the cheapest checking account they offer, giving me just 10 free transactions/ month, so using my credit card like this, I have only a few bill payments to make from my bank each month, saving me at least $15 a month in higher account fees, which is worth it to me! The trick is to ALWAYS pay your FULL balance, to avoid falling into the pit of being stuck with enormous interest rates, which Walmart's Mastercard has the standard 19.99% (which can really hurt you if you carry a balance!). But overall, this card is great; I love the rewards (I feel like I must shop there too much sometimes when I see how quickly my rewards dollars add up, LOL), and it has really helped me to build my credit back up to much better than it ever was prior to having it. And over the 5 or so years that I've been using my card, I've gone from $1,000 limit up to $11,500 by using it wisely!

Got approved but for a suprinsingly low credit limit. I usually get at least $2000. I'm definitely not making any big purchase with $300 anytime soon...

It was pretty simple to get! My Transunion was 845 my Experian was 849 and my Equifax was 850! And only had this card now for a few weeks! I don't know why others are having such a hard time getting this card?

I was approved for a low limit of 400.00 for the store card. I was switched over to the Master Card after about 6 months i think and i get increases every few months i was just at 4400.00 last month. I went to pay my bill tonight and i am now at 6300.00 I have never asked for an increase they are all auto increase. I don't think I have had the card 2 years yet so for increases it's great but the interest is a bit too high i use it mostly for groceries and pay it off... I rated CS 3 stars i have never used them but i had to rate and i am pretty sure i would be accurate in this rating..

it's a walmart card.
interest is high if you carry a balance--so try not to carry a balance for long.
received my card about 7 years ago when my fico score was around 590.
approved for (i think) a $300.00 credit limit.
things have significantly improved since then but "wally"was there when i needed a store card.
the walmart card is a good little card to have.

Fico score is 636 and was approved for 1200. Two months ago I was denied for same walmart card. I have 9 collections from 2008-after a messy divorce and working on rebuilding. Quicksilver card 500.,Matrix card 500, Victoria secret 300,Express 300, Bryant Lane 250, BC outlet 250, Care credit 800,Amazon 800. Card that is interest crazy is Matrix. Not worth getting but I thank them for giving me a start to improve my credit. I started with a 300 limit from fingerhut and had my dad put me on as a authorized buyer on his wells fargo. Jumped up score quickly

Just applied and was instantly approved for $1200 (plus $25 off $75 order made on same day). And that's after applying with Capital One about an hour before (approved for Quicksilver with $500 CL). I already had a Capital One Secured Card w/$800 CL and an auto loan w/$11,800 balance.

Nicky, it makes no difference if you apply in store or online. The application processes are the same. It's just that we (I am an employee of Wal-Mart) process the application by a cash register if you're interested as a convenience. Your credit history (how many lines of credit you've paid/how many monthly payments you've made), income vs. living expenses (rent/mortgage), and your FICO score (I believe, but not 100% sure) are what determine if you can get approved. I've seen people as young as 18 get approved, so if you're responsible, it will pay off. Also, two good benefits to this card would be the free FICO score access when you enroll in EBilling (You can check it for free without it damaging your credit, and FICO score is a huge factor in credit decisions) and the interest free promotions should you spend a lot. Basically, the interest free financing saves you literally hundreds of dollars by eliminating interest charges. Everyone has their opinions of WalMart, but they do have a good credit card.

I have been on a card getting rampage the last month I got a quicksilver, and platinum classic from cap one. Then I applied for discover and was denied I won't go back! Well today I did a Walmart app got a $300 limit I will request higher as that's all I ever need there but I want my usage at a cool 20%. I hope it works, they took a chance on me so I won't let them down. Bye Brookshire and hello Walmart! One more financial step closer to buying a mass amount of acreage.

I was thrilled to get the CL that I got with my score. This is my 4th year with this card now. For the first year or two, I've had the occasionally $100 CL increase. The during the last year, I had a couple of $500 increases. This allows me to buy more fancy electronics with the card!

Got a pre approval letter from GE Bank. Applied and got $500 CL with a 587 TU score. I thought the limit was a little low. After reading the comments here and some other forums, it looks like that is a normal starter limit. I am some other store cards and just want to have some diversity in my credit profile.

Got this card a couple of years ago. I shop quite a bit at Walmart so I do use this card quite a bit. I once maxed out on a lcd TV but other than that, I go nowhere close to my CL. Then after a year, I got my lines increased to $1000. After about another 6 months, it increased to $1700. Now, my limit is $2500. I am pretty pleased with this.
