This was the first card I was able to get after a poor credit history from years previous to acquiring. They gave me a moderate limit to start (I think it was $1,000 at the time?), and after about six months they offered me an increase, and continued to do so as time went by and my credit improved through consistent use and paying my balance in full every month. I now have a credit score of 804 on Transunion, and I'm telling you, I started in a lousy place (ex had run up bills in my name years ago). When I was first approved, I decided to use it as you would use your debit card, for all of my everyday purchases, and then pay the full balance at the end of the month, to avoid any interest fees. I hate paying large monthly fees to my bank just to have an account that allows me to use it in any way, so I opted for the cheapest checking account they offer, giving me just 10 free transactions/ month, so using my credit card like this, I have only a few bill payments to make from my bank each month, saving me at least $15 a month in higher account fees, which is worth it to me! The trick is to ALWAYS pay your FULL balance, to avoid falling into the pit of being stuck with enormous interest rates, which Walmart's Mastercard has the standard 19.99% (which can really hurt you if you carry a balance!). But overall, this card is great; I love the rewards (I feel like I must shop there too much sometimes when I see how quickly my rewards dollars add up, LOL), and it has really helped me to build my credit back up to much better than it ever was prior to having it. And over the 5 or so years that I've been using my card, I've gone from $1,000 limit up to $11,500 by using it wisely!

I’m working to build my credit but also earn cash back since I do spend a lot at Walmart. My credit rating is lower due to student loans which I have attorneys fighting because they are lying about the amount owed. I got some loans removed and now my score increases, decreases because I only have 5 accounts. I need one more account to secure my credit score or an increase, yet I’ve asked for increases after paying on time faithfully and keep getting denied. Disappointing.

I had medical collections that are dropping because I proved them as fraudulant. I've been doing credit karma and credit sesame. The 3 bureau range from 620 to 682. Been denied for store card again. All trade lines (1 personal loan and 2 comenity store cards) are current with low balances plus have a "paid as agreed" car loan paid off. I own my home and have income over 60k
I cant get this card but know of one person who is unemployed, on welfare, and per her credit karma score, FICO was 505. No income has rent payment, no money to pay for credit but she was approved for $500. Tell me how that makes since! Thankfully comenity does target, I know I will have no issue there.

Applied today since I have an alert on my credit file told me to call which I did with reference number. I was asked a couple of questions and was approved. CL of only $500 but only got this to get gas discount so $500 was more than I spend on gas per month. My Chase has a $16,000 limit and Citicard has $7,500 but gold old Walmart was $500. Lol it’s cool cause like I said only will use for the gas discounts. I never ever ever carry balances because I refuse to pay interest. Always had this policy

I’m convinced there’s something else going on with Walmart CC. I was initially approved for 300 then after being denied for an increase, months later got and increase of $200. I have several Dept store cards with Syncrony and has never had an issue getting new cards or an increase. Walmart has denied every increase I have applied for, for the last year and half. They go by credit report from 6 months back and look at everything on your credit back 5 or more years despite your current.

I cant believe how credit Karma and everyone is saying how easy it is to get A Walmart card. I have unsecured bank card with a $700 limit and one with a $1500 limit after filing for chp7 a year ago due to enormous medical bills with no insurance. Unbelievably my credit score is still at all 3 bureaus in the high 6-700's. I received online a letter stating I was denied. Awesome. After thinking it over,Im really glad because I dont need another monthly bill. I need to save instead of spending anyway. Thank you Walmart.

My Fico8 Transunion score is 618 and this is what Walmart pulled.
My income isn't very high and I have a 90-day late payment from the Summer of 2018 (about 5 months ago). I am now currently up to date on all my debts. I have some debt that I am regularly paying off (my utilization is at about 90%). Obviously, my credit is not very good. BUT I STILL GOT APPROVED!
A few months ago I applied for this card (when my FICO score was in the mid-500s, my debt was much higher, and my "baddies" were far too fresh) and got rejected. I felt at the time that it was hopeless and that I'd never qualify for this card which really bummed me about because this is the store card I wanted most since I shop at Walmart anyway.
I'm grateful for my other store card which is only for online purchases (and which I got only for rebuilding purposes). Sure, I can find something I like there, but nothing that is a necessity. In months where money is tight, I still have to buy groceries and gas, and I can do this with the Walmart card *and* I can be building my credit at the same time.
I'm quite thrilled that I qualified for this. I wish the limit were higher, but after my recent denial, I'm just grateful to be in.

First I'll start with the positives about Walmart Rewards Mastercard.
1. High credit limit, so you assume it would be reliable for trips.
2. You can pay your credit card bill in store, I was told that it goes straight into your card and there is no 3-5 business day wait for it.
3. You can access all your transactions online with no need to use your phone to call them.
4. 24/7 hr access to their fraud department.
Here are the negatives about having a Walmart Rewards Mastercard.
1. You're not aloud to see your pending transactions online.
2. If you call them inquiring about your pending transactions they will have a hard time taking the time to tell you the transactions that are pending and they will interrupt you and cut you off and use the whole, "poor me, I gotta work!?" attitude, also they won't transfer you to someone that can actually help you.
3. You can't get a list of your transactions or pending transactions in store.
4. If you put money on your card in store, it does not go in right away it takes 3-5 business days.
5. If you call the fraud department on a Sunday night about a suspected fraud they will tell you that they can't help you with that and to call back in the morning.
The only other credit card I've had was from Capital One.
1. You can review your purchases, as they are being made online, or from their mobile app.
2. They have round the clock customer service.
3. If they suspect their is a fraud they will contact you personally.
4. They are also a great start to building your credit.

I went to pay my bill tonight and i am now at 6300.00 I have never asked for an increase they are all auto increase. I don't think I have had the card 2 years yet so for increases it's great but the interest is a bit too high i use it mostly for groceries and pay it off... WM/SAMS CC's SUCK , and so does SYNCHRONY banks suck as well. I have a $100 limit with WM .
I am a responsible CC user, sometime my balances are high, some times I pay %100, zero balance. I USE MY CARDS, is not that why we have them ?
I have a 677, great debt to income ratio, no BK, nothing, no puke on my credit. Not perfect credit (which NO ONE has), but responsible use of my cards and credit overall.I would like to mention that I have %100 payment on time history, no over credit limit...NOTHING NEGATIVE
About 2 weeks ago, I get a letter fro SYN bank and WM card account , stating that my credit limit has been reduced to $100...WTF is that all about ? The reason ? stated in the letter " to much use of credit, high balance," OH MAN I AM PISSED OFF.
After a call to WM service ( which was an excellent and professional call) I cancelled that wonderful WM and SAM's Card. I will still shop there, it because ma and pa store are not open at 2am and have ready made pizza.
That letter from SYN and WM, just finished my credit life.
I am trading ALL of my CC's in for CASH, I will NOT pay for some company VIP to take a 2 week cruise on my hard earned money.
I will never wait for a dreaded 7-10 letter telling me how bad of a consumer I am.
With that said, I think SYN bank is a criminal and from this point on, I will have my cash in a jar or in a STOCK.
Good luck to all, I hope this motivates the people whos lifes are owned by CC companys...

Now the BK was discharged Dec 2017. My scores are jumping all over the place. C Karma has me at 730 fico. Others 691, 696. Cap one 691, and some at 596 & 609 etc. It is hard to tell what form they will use I really want my Walmart card back. I never had a late payment in 40 years until the BK. I have never had a late payment, usually keep the balance at zero or close to it. Several members of my family use my account quite often. As long as they pay on time I don't mind and neither does Walmart. I love the Walmart stores and the credit card. Just received a letter stating that they will be changing my account to a Walmart Mastercard. So far I have absolutely no complaints.

I have had this card since December of 2015. I applied when purchasing a gift for Christmas. I was instantly approved for $300. I have paid on time every month and most months before my payment is actually due. I have even paid it off in full twice since having it. I have requested a credit limit increase several times and have been denied. I know that I do not have a great score, but my payment history is excellent. I had some financial problems arise when the economy crashed so I do have some dings on my credit. Mostly medical bills though. I am very disappointed that they refuse to increase the credit limit.

When I applied for this card my credit was new. They gave me the card with a temporary 1500 $ balance and when I received my card it was actually a 3500 balance. I used this card to make a large purchase with our new home and continued to use it here and there. About 3 weeks after getting the card they raised the cl to 4900$ I'm sorry but I'm reading horrible reviews. Yes this card has a high apr but you knew that when you signed up.... Pay your bills on time and you won't have any problems.

I applied not expecting much. I just got approved on a Target card so I thought I would give Walmart a try. $500. Not bad considering 1 year ago the only cards I could get approved on were secure cards. I started rebuilding my credit about 2 years ago with a $200 Capitol One card. Now I have a revolving credit of $20,000. Lots of work in 2 years but if you're patient and pay ON TIME ALL THE TIME the credit card companies will notice. I get pre-approval letters every week now. I'm becoming a little more picky on which Credit Cards I apply for.

Quicksilver card 500.,Matrix card 500, Victoria secret 300,Express 300, Bryant Lane 250, BC outlet 250, Care credit 800,Amazon 800. Card that is interest crazy is Matrix. Not worth getting but I thank them for giving me a start to improve my credit. I started with a 300 limit from fingerhut and had my dad put me on as a authorized buyer on his wells fargo. Applied for card in October 2015 after applying for Amazon Prime Card. Got instant approval for $1600 for the Walmart Mastercard not store card. Waited two months made on time payments which were triple the minimum payment due, called in december 2015 asked for increase to $10k countered back at $8k and this was while i was on an app spree and got approved for 5 more cards in one month all from sycnhrony bank and got all those increased a couple months later. Calling customer service is pointless have to call credit solutions they will do everything they can to help you. FYI started my rebuilding in April 2015 with a Cap 1 Platinum with a $300 credit limit. Now its January 2016 and I have over $38K in credit from all credit cards. I wanted to finance tires and applied for this card. I got an instant approval with $900 for the MasterCard with only a year of credit history. I got 6 months no interest with my purchase. I have a bike loan out of which I financed $2000 at my credit union. My current balance is $850. The only other credit I have is my Bank of America credit card that has a limit of $700 and a balance of $400. I only applied because I heard it was easy to get a store card. I was denied, but I'm going to try to get a recon by asking for a store card for $150. I have some bad items on my credit, but they are several years ago, and my scores have been improving greatly as things drop off. If I can't get a store card, I guess I'll have to go with a secured card. Now I'm sort of angry because this will ding my scores and I make it harder to get a secured card.

I was just approved online for $700.00. I currently have a credit score of 634 Experian and 620 with Transunion. The following is my credit background:
BK Chp 7 - discharged 2013
Two fairly new personal loans, each $2,000.00
First Premier Credit Card; Merrick Bank Credit Card and Capital Card - all cards are a few hundreds of dollars of being maxed out, but I pay on time every month and try to pay at least double the minimum payment. It should be noted that I have stopped using the first two cards for several months now until I lower the balances.

Im rebuilding my credit. I applied for the walmart card 6 months ago and was denied. I already have Kemba CC 4000 limit it started out as a secured Cc for 2000. I have 2 cap 1 CC 750 limit and 800 limit and just got Merrick Bank 600 limit 30 days ago. I've been monitoring my score through Experian and Transunion so when I reached 600 last week I got a oldnavy CC by accident I just went in the store to by clothes they approved me for 300 but I really wanted the walmart CC since I'm in there almost everyday. Well got it today 500.00 limit with a 601 score. The benefits of no intrest is awesome since I usually don't carry high balances but the more you spend with this card the longer they give you 0 percent no intrest. So we will see.

Nicky, it makes no difference if you apply in store or online. The application processes are the same. It's just that we (I am an employee of Wal-Mart) process the application by a cash register if you're interested as a convenience. Your credit history (how many lines of credit you've paid/how many monthly payments you've made), income vs. living expenses (rent/mortgage), and your FICO score (I believe, but not 100% sure) are what determine if you can get approved. I've seen people as young as 18 get approved, so if you're responsible, it will pay off. Also, two good benefits to this card would be the free FICO score access when you enroll in EBilling (You can check it for free without it damaging your credit, and FICO score is a huge factor in credit decisions) and the interest free promotions should you spend a lot. Basically, the interest free financing saves you literally hundreds of dollars by eliminating interest charges. Everyone has their opinions of WalMart, but they do have a good credit card.

TU score was 632. Income was 55k. Applied and got approved. I already have the First Premier and Credit One. Now that this card comes with no annual fee, I'll slowly get rid of the other two after I get another no annual fee card.

Score was 645 with EQ. Have a Cap One and FP. I had tried getting a Discover and Citi but was not approved for either. Anyway, am glad I got this card. I'll be targeting the Walmart Discover after a year or so.

I was thrilled to get the CL that I got with my score. This is my 4th year with this card now. For the first year or two, I've had the occasionally $100 CL increase. The during the last year, I had a couple of $500 increases. This allows me to buy more fancy electronics with the card!

Score was 730 (TU I think). CL given was $800. This was great and I have used close to the full limit for a flat screen TV and washer dryer. A year later, got a CLI and it is now $1500.

Applied for this card once and was declined. 6 months later with hardly a change in my score (674 EQ), I was approved for a $500 CL. This is my first no annual fee card since my credit took a nose dive. Before this, I have Credit One and Cap One secured ($300 CL each).

Am a student and shop at Walmart near my campus. Got this card with a $1k CL. I always pay in full and am very happy with this card. Will probably try for the Discover version soon.

I am sort of in the rebuilding since coming out of BK. Have a Credit One before I applied and got approved for this card. I plan to stay way before my CL and see how this card works out in terms of helping me with my credit score.

Got a pre approval letter from GE Bank. Applied and got $500 CL with a 587 TU score. I thought the limit was a little low. After reading the comments here and some other forums, it looks like that is a normal starter limit. I am some other store cards and just want to have some diversity in my credit profile.

Got this card a couple of years ago. I shop quite a bit at Walmart so I do use this card quite a bit. I once maxed out on a lcd TV but other than that, I go nowhere close to my CL. Then after a year, I got my lines increased to $1000. After about another 6 months, it increased to $1700. Now, my limit is $2500. I am pretty pleased with this.
