I am an international student and still had not gotten my SSN when I applied for this card. I opened a bank account with Citi and applied in the branch. I had to bring my passport, I-20 and proof that I was a student. They approved me for it and I have been using this card since. I like the rewards and most importantly, it is helping me build my credit history in the US.

Citi TY is one of the three cards I have. The other two are Discover and Capital One. I love this card the best among the three because of the rewards and customer service (Discover is very good as well). The ThankYou points can be used at amazon, which s really cool. The APR is decent and their customer service is really friendly as well. Website is easy to use and you can manage your card from there.
If you are a student and looking to build your credit, I would recommend this card highly.

I think this is a great card for students. I guess I am typical of most students and dining is probably my biggest expense. So the rewards on dining come in really handy. I also use points on amazon purchases so this is another thing that I really like about the card.

I have four student credit cards and can say that this is my favorite. I managed to take advantage of their 0% offer and buy a ton of school supplies including a small laptop and pay it off during the intro period.
I also love how you can earn more points on dining and entertainment (which is every student's biggest expense). The best thing is that you can use your points to shop at amazon.com. Sometimes, the points pay off what I bought and I get something for free!
You can also use your card to pay part of your bills through "select and credit".
My other cards simply do not compare to citi. If you are a student and want a card, this is the one to get.

I love this card a lot. When I first got it, I made use of the 0% intro offer for 6 or 7 months (can't remember). Bought a ipad at 0% financing but paid it off before the intro period ended. I like the rewards and the fact that you can earn one point for every dollar that you spend. I mostly redeem my points for gift cards and amazon purchases.

This is my first card and I could not be happier. I am not a particular fussy person so as long as customer service is ok and I have no major problems, I am happy. So far, the rewards have been good, payment is easy and I have not yet had a problem which required a call to customer service.

I was denied by Discover and Wells Fargo and I am very grateful that Citi approved me.
I love the rewards and the fact that you can use points at amazon.
I feel that the website could be a bit more use friendly though.

I had a 730 TU score and was approved for $2000. I included my loans and scholarship money in my income and that bumped it up to $25000. I use the card mainly when I hang out with friends for dinner so the rewards at diners come in very handy.

I applied for this card during my freshman year. I have taken some personal financial classes and am well aware of the dangers of misusing credit cards. So I make sure I spend less than my limit and pay it off every month on time.
