I got this card initially when I was buying a mattress to get some discounts and use the 0% financing. After a couple of years, I was remodeling my kitchen and I got an email promoting 5% off kenmore appliance. I shopped around and eventually ended up getting the kenmore appliances with 5% off from the card and more from the discounts they were offering in store.

I was shopping for a new mattress for the master bedroom and finally settled on one from sears. Actually I found it online at sears.com and when I checked out, I chose the 0% 18 month financing. However, when I got my statement, I was still charged the interest. I called customer service and it was resolved pretty quickly. So here's a 5-star for customer service.

I applied for the store card once but was denied. But after a couple of years, I was persuaded by the folks at the store to open this card so I can save like $15. I did and was approved. I later found out that the interest rate is really high (like 25% for me) so I make an effort to pay off the full balance every month. It has the same benefits as the store card but you can use it anywhere because it is a mastercard.

I have been shopping at sears and kmart for 20 years. I finally agreed to apply for this card after the sales associate kept pestering about getting a discount on my purchase. I got approved on the spot. Over the months i have used it, I have come to appreciate the discount and sales alerts every month. If you shop at kmart or sears a lot, this card will serve you well. The interest rate is high though, so I pay it off every month.

I got the sears mastercard when I was buying a treadmill and figured that the savings and 0% financing at that time would be great for me. I have come to find out that you do get sales notifications and discounts when you have the card.
The bad thing about this card is that the interest rate is rather high. Ours was close to 20% area (which is ridiculous considering that I have great credit).
Also, you can only apply the mastercard in store whereas you can apply for the store card online.

I was in the midst of renovating my kitchen and I went to check out Sears and Lowes for appliances. I liked the Kenmore range from Sears and thought that they were more competitively priced. I ended up getting the mastercard as I checked out and got the discounts and 0% financing for 12 months.
As I have had this card longer, I appreciated it more as you get alerts on sales and regular discounts. If you shop at sears (especially if you are going to buy big ticket items), then this is a great card to get.

I've bought most of my appliances from Sears (mostly their Kenmore brand) and I found that this card was useful in terms of financing and discounts etc. I also like the fact that unlike most other store cards, it is a mastercard and you can use it anywhere else.

This happened years ago. I originally had the sears/kmart card. Then I got a mail "congratulating me" that I will get a new Sears Mastercard that would replace the sears/kmart card that I had and I was also invited to join the sears choice rewards program. I have had the card since and if you buy big ticket stuff like appliance from sears, then this card would come in very handy.

Beyond any introductory offer, this card shines for me because there are regular discounts and sales on power tools. I managed to pick up a few over the last couple of years. If you do not buy any big ticket item from sears, then this card is probably not for you.

I initially got this card to get interest free purchases. Since then, I have kept the card because Sears is always offering discounts and sales every once in a while (if you use the card). This is a great card to get if you buy big ticket items from Sears.

I got this card when my washer and dryer needed replacement. We had a sales associate guide us through our purchase and when it was time to check out, we applied for the card and got 18 month financing (if I recall correctly). I have since kept the card because I bought other stuff like coffee machines from Sears as well.
My only experience with customer service was when I forgot my password and they simply guided me over the phone to reset it.
If you shop at Sears, this is a great card.

I am sort of immune to clerks at check out counters pestering me to get their "store" credit card. But when I was last shopping at Sears, I thought that the benefits were too good to be true. So I signed up and was able to use it right there and got a great discount off what I was buying.
After using the card for several months, I decided to keep it because I keep getting notifications for sales and coupons. Since I shop at Sears quite a bit, I find this card really useful.

I got this card after being persuaded at the check out counter. You do get the 0% financing and discounts. And the regular coupons and sales alerts are great. What is also great is that this is a mastercard. Many stores only have store cards and do not have mastercard or visa.
But you should only get this card is you shop a lot at Sears.

Was looking for a new stove and washer dryer and after looking at various stores like Lowes, Home Depot and Sears, we figured that Sears had the best prices. So we applied for the Sears Card and was given a master card with a $3k limit. 0% financing. Score was 698 (borderline 700) as a reference.

I BKed 13 10 years ago and took a Citi card down with me in BK. So I never expect to get a Citi for a long time. A couple of years ago, I tried applying for a Sears card but got denied. A couple of weeks ago, I was at Sears looking to buy some appliance and the clerk persuaded me to apply for a card to get a discount. I went for it and I actually got approved for the Sears MasterCard for $5k CL.
I have been reading up on this card for a bit and do realize that if Citi does not approve me, then I might get the HSBC version for the Sears Solution Card. Surprised Citi is finally OK with me!

Was just hanging around Sears and decided to pick up something. Cashier said that if I got a Sears card that I would get $15 off. So I applied and got approved for the Sears mastercard. Credit line was $2000 and my score at that time was around 710.

Had quite a pleasant experience with my application. I applied to receive a discount on my purchase (like most folks I believe) and was approved for a 3k credit limit on their Mastercard. I filed BKr 7 3 years ago. Score when I got the card was about 650. I thought that I would just be approved for the store card but was really glad I got the master card version.

Sounds like a familiar story for me. Got to "save $15 if I applied for the card at check-out". Got approved and saved my $15. But as time went on, I found the card really helpful in that I get regular coupons and alerts to future sales and discounts. I have kept this card since and always use it.

Aside from this card, I also have other "store" cards like GAP and Macys. All I would say is that you should only get these cards if you shop with them. Sears is really no different from other store cards is that you get special discounts and financing and advance notice on sales and deals. But I think what sets it apart is that if you big ticket items (which you really can't with GAP for example), then you can really save a lot with the discounts and 0% financing.
