I got this card during my sophomore year just before I did my semester in Europe. This card has no foreign transaction fees and this saved me quite a bit of money.
If you get this card, you should also open a BOA checking account and you will earn 10% more points with the card.

I had a BOA checking account and decided to get this card when I got into college. This card really came in handy during my semester in Italy because the card did not charge any foreign transaction fees.
The only issue I have is that as a student, I do not really spend a lot on the card so I don't think I can redeem those points for anything meaningful for a while. I might soon get their cash back card instead since I can redeem them in smaller amounts.

I got this card during my junior year and just after I got it, my laptop broke. So I took advantage of the sign up bonus and bought myself a new laptop and earned quite a lot of points as a result. I also opened a BOA checking account since I can earn 10% more points if I have an active account. I can now monitor my fico score and manage both my bank account and credit card from one website.

When I got this card, I took advantage of the sign up bonus. My had my android phone for over 5 years and it was near unusable. My laptop was also near done. So I replace both of these and took advantage of the bonus points. I earned myself 20000 bonus points as a result. This was worth $200. I was then able to use the southwest $79 annual sale and book myself a couple of tickets to fly home with the bonus points I had earned.

I got this card during my sophomore year. During my freshman year, I got a card from Citi. I do like this card for the rewards and managing it from the website and app is pretty easy. You can also monitor your fico score for free. The only issue I have with this is that I think boa is over the top when they suspect that there is a fraudulent charge. I traveled out of state once and had my card decline. Same thing happened when I went to a shopping outlet 70 miles from where I live (my school). I am actually happy that they are on top of things, but this is a little too much.

They sent my card to the wrong address. That was not a good first impression.

Love this card. Used it abroad for my semester and also in Mexico (where I went for spring break). They do not charge any foreign transaction fee (which is a great thing). They also let you monitor and check your fico score. I only wished I had gotten this card earlier.

This is perhaps the best student card I have had. I much prefer earning points to cash back so this card fits right up the alley. I took advantage of the sign up bonus and get myself 20000 points (worth $200). I can also earn 10% more points since I have a boa checking account. I also check my fico score once in a while. Recently, I set up autopay with my checking account so I do not have to worry about being late for my payment.

I had absolutely no credit history when I applied for this card. So thanks BOA for approving me. Having said that, I did have a checking account with them since I was a kid so perhaps that helped. I am very happy with the card, the rewards and so far, I have not had to call customer service at all.

2 weeks ago, I got the BOA student mastercard. Then I realized that there were no rewards at all. So I decided to give card a shot not expecting to get approved because I just applied and got approved for the other one. Well, it took a week but I finally did get approved and now have 2 BOA cards.

I have both this card and the citi thankyou for student. Both are rewards cards but at the margin, I prefer citi's card a little better because I can use the card at amazon. Having said that , this card gives you 1.5% for all purchases so you have incentive to use this card all the time. Think it is great having a couple of cards in your wallet.
