I was pre-approved for the Everyday Card and figured why the hell not! I've never had an AMEX, but my Citi, BOA & Discovery all have over $15K limits. I have 8 cards total and my utilization is under 20%; I have no delinquencies, 100% on-time payments, $25K car note paid in full. The only debt I have is student loans--which are in good standing and all I received upon approval was a $1,000 limit. It's insulting really. I initially forgot to unlock my credit file, but promptly unlocked it and proceeded to process my pre-approval only to get this. Now I regret falling for the "you're pre-approved" non-sense!
