Got a premier bank card secured credit card with a $300 limit. Always paid on time but their customer service and website sucks. We cancelled this card a few days ago and they informed us that they will not return the $300 to us because it is a regular credit card. In other words, they screwed me out of $300 by converting the card without my permission or knowledge. I would avoid this card company like the plague. They WILL screw you too.

This appears to be an easy card to get because I was rejected for a few store cards. Fees are high, but what do you do? Those of us with bad credit just have to suck it up.

This card is definitely for rebuilding your credit. Issuer is taking a risk on folks like us by charging for lots of things. Firstly, the interest rate is high (so always PIF and on time to avoid those charges). The late fee is quite high as well. On top of that, they charge you a monthly fee and an annual fee (that is something you cannot avoid). Once my credit improves to an acceptable level, I'll be giving some no fee cards a shot.

Wrecked by credit in college and started looking for a card to rebuild. After reading lots of reviews on Orchard, Credit One etc, I decided to take a shot at this plus another secured card. I minimize fees by paying twice a month and never being late. Have never encountered any issues with CSR so far.

I was quite surprised by the CL I got ($700). What can I say? Every sub prime I looked at had high fees. I knew I had to get a couple to rebuild. Like many others, I got a secured (lower annual fee) and an unsecured (this one) to have more lines in CR. Keep my fingers crossed that my score shoots up to high 600s soon (as in a year or two?).

This card is at the bottom of the pile. Guess you are a hostage when you have bad credit. My Cap One started with a $300 and is now $1k. Still stuck at $300 for this card. It will be the first to go once I get the Cap One Quicksilver or Barclays Rewards.

Destroyed my credit as I did not understand what I was doing and am now going through the painful steps of getting my score back up. Got a tiny CL and once the fees are paid, I was stuck with hardly any lines at all before I paid up all the upfront fees. I just charge about $30 or so a month and PIF. My score has increased by about 50 points within 7 months so it looks like I'm on the right track.

So my credit crapped out after a business failure. This card was easy to get. Hate the fees but what could I do. I was actually quite surprised at the credit limit. The plan is to rebuild and get back to normal mainstream cards.

After using this card for about 8 months, my credit has improved slightly and I see it reporting. But I may have utilized my limit too much since I read others improving their credit by even 100 points within a year.

So I did not get any card in college. When I graduated, I applied for Citi and Chase but was declined because of insufficient credit. Through some research, I decided to give this a shot and got it. After 6 months, saw a pre-approved card from Cap One and Barclays in the mail. Got those and canceled this one.

Had this card ages ago when my CR was in the dumps. I also had the Orchard Bank back then. When I compared the two, Orchard had the lower fees. I am done with both of these cards now and have the Barclays Rewards MasterCard (which now provides me with a TransUnion FICO score).

Got this together with the Credit One. After 8 months, I was mailed another promotion for another FP! Why should I given the fees. I am on a long road back from destroying my score and hopefully one day, I'll be able to get a regular card without all these monthly fees and non-mafia type rates.

Got approved with a 500+ TU score. Low limit (which I expected). Fees are ridiculous and so are the rates. Pay in full and you should be fine. Can't wait for my score to reach high 600s so I can get rid of this.

Credit was trashed after my divorce. Got a Orchard Bank and also this card. Paid lots of fees when I had both of them although FP was much higher. The interest rate is ridiculous so the trick is to PIF every month and do so early. When my scores improved to mid 600s, I applied and got approved for the Barclays Rewards MasterCard. Orchard has been canceled. This one will be soon.

Credit got whacked in C7 BK. Got a couple of cards to try to rebuild. The Cap One secured was one of them. This was the other one. Didn't like the annual fee and monthly maintenance fees. But what I did was to use only up to 20% of the lines given and pay it off immediately. I cannot stress that enough. After about a year, my score improved by almost 100 points. So, as far as fees and rates go, this card sucks. But it sure helped me rebuild my credit.

Like many here, I have to concur that while the fees are high, we all have to start somewhere (ie for those of us who have taken a hit in their credit). For me, I just charge $15 or so and pay it off every month. Really looking forward to the day when I can get a no annual fee card.

This card sucks. It was "easy" to get. Saying this tongue in cheek because my score was about 500. Paid the up front fee ($95 I think). The came the annual fee before I even used the card. CSR sucks. Can't wait for my score to improve and get approved for a proper card.

Quite surprised with the limit I got when others I read were getting $300. Still, the fees are so high. It's like paying for an Amex charge card but with no limit! Really looking forward to the day when I get a better card. In the meantime, it's charge a little and PIF.

Got a $500 CL. Before you know it, only about $300 was left after the fees were deducted before I even used the card. But this is just a baby step for me to rebuild my credit.
