Fit Mastercard Credit Card Mobile App for Android and IOS

The Fit Mastercard mobile app is available in both Android and IOS. It is a good and decent mobile app which is easy to navigate. On their home page, you can get a quick glance of your minimum balance, payment due date, statement balance and recent activities and transactions.

Most of you will also be using the app to pay your bills and it allows you to do that. Doing so is very easy and you can choose to pay in full, the minimum amount of any amount you choose. You can set up and save your bank account details (account and routing number) and use that account to pay your bills. You can even set up more than one bank account in your app.

The app is not perfect by any stretch though their software developers have been making constant improvements over time. In this review, I will be highlighting what the app can and cannot do and how best to navigate around some issues that people have.

What the Fit Credit Card Mobile App Can Do

We are now going to give an overview of the Reflex mobile app and what you can do with regards to managing your Reflex Mastercard.

Home Page Snapshot

Below is a screen shot of the Fit credit card mobile app home page. As you can see, it gives you a snapshot of your minimum balance, Payment due date, statement balance and recent activities. I find the layout well thought out and at a glance, you can see all the relevant information just from the home page.

Viewing Your Recent Activities and Transactions

Once you download your app onto your phone, most of you will be checking your recent transactions and activities very often. In fact it is quite addictive. One issue some of you may face is that it does not update quickly enough for you. One solution is to simply log out of the app and log back in and that should do the trick.

Making Payments from the app

Many of you will be using the app to pay your bills and the Fit Mastercard app makes it easy. You should take the time to "set up" your bank account first (entering your bank account and routing number and giving it a name on the app) so that you do not have to re-enter these information each time you pay.

To pay your bills from the app, simply click the "payment" tab. You will be given a choice to pay the full balance, minimum payment or other amounts. You can then choose the bank account that you want to use (or have already set up in your app or desktop portal).

For those of you who want to use autopay, you have to set it up on your desktop portal. At this moment, it appears that you cannot set it up on your mobile app yet though it shows whether you have autopay enabled.

One thing to take note of is that you cannot use your debit card to pay your bills via your app. Many will argue that their debit card is linked to their checking account but that is not how the app works. In fact, most apps also do not allow you to use your debit cards to pay your bills. If you insist on using your debit card to pay your bills, you have to do so over the phone.

Biometrics and Face ID

The Fit credit card App now has biometrics and Face ID login, which makes it very convenient for us to login without having to type in your password.

Alerts and Notifications

The Fit Mastercard app allows you to set up the following alerts and notification.

  • Whether your statement is available
  • credit card payment due date - especially if you do not intend to set up autopay and like to pay manually either via the app or portal
  • payment post to account - you should have alerts to this to prevent going "over-the-limit" especially if payment has not been posted
  • credit limit reached or exceeded
  • balance exceeds threshold - this is a great setup to do if you are looking to keep your spending on the card to a certain credit utilization ratio
  • balance is within a specified amount of your credit limit

What the App Cannot Do

Cannot Set Up AutoPay on Mobile App - Autopay has to be set up on your desktop online account and it cannot be set up on your mobile app. Having said that, the Fit credit card mobile app will show you if you have your autopay enabled.

Debit Card Cannot Be Used to Pay on Mobile App - Many of you would like to use your debit card that is linked to your checking account to pay your bills with the app. But unfortunately, if you want to use the app to pay your bills, you need to use your checking account with the account and routing number. Debit cards are not accepted and you insist on paying with your debit card, you have to pay via phone.

App Manages Only One Card with One Login - Fit is one of a few credit cards issued by Continental Finance. Some of you might have more than one Continental Finance cards and it turns out that you can only manage one credit card on your app or desktop online account with one login. If you have more than one credit card from CF, you need to set up another login. This is quite a major incovenience and hassle.

Cannot freeze Surge card from mobile app - Should you lose your Fit Mastercard, you cannot use your app to freeze it temporarily. You would actually have to call up customer service.

No Live Chat or direct call to customer service from app - Presently, the Fit credit card app does not have any "Live Chat" feature. Though they do give you their customer service number, you have to manually dial it on your phone.

Cannot order replacement card from app - You have to call customer service to get your card replaced.

Our Take: A Decent App Which Will Get Better Over Time

Unlike many subprime credit cards, the Fit Mastercard credit card has a very good and decent mobile app that is available on both Android and IOS. I like the layout of the home page layout as you can simply get a snapshot of the most important details from just one screen. You are able to see your minimum balance, statement due date and recent activity all at once.

Paying your bills via your mobile app is also very easy. To make your life even easier, you should definitley set up and save your bank account details so that you do not have to fill in your bank account and routing number each time you pay. The Fit Mastercard mobile app does not allow you to pay your bill with your debit card even though it is the one that is linked to your checking account. To pay by your debit card, you have to pay over the phone.

At this moment, you cannot set up autopay from your mobile. You have to do it via your desktop portal online account instead. Having said that, the mobile app will show if you have autopay enabled and even edit it from there.

Since, the launch of the app, it has been steadily improving. The app is very decent though it does not have all the bells and whistle of those of established credit card issuers. Nonetheless, their software developers keep improving the app and over time, it should get even better.
