Like all other credit card issuers, Citicard’s balance transfer policy has evolved since the credit crisis erupted two year ago. After the financial crisis hit, Citi (like all other credit card issuers) started being less aggressive about balance transfer offers. But as credit card defaults have lessened, Citi is being more generous in their balance transfer policies and presently, offer some of the best deals in town.
The Citi® Platinum Select® MasterCard® is now offering a 0% Intro APR* on balance transfer for 21 months and 0% Intro APR* on purchases for 18 months. The length of the introductory period obviously depends on your credit. But for those with excellent credit, this is probably “the card” to consider today. The APR is between 11.99% and 21.99* (variable).
The Citi® Dividend Platinum Select® MasterCard® is another Citi card with a great balance transfer offer. New cardholders get a 0% Intro APR* on balance transfers for 12 months.
The Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card is another one of Citi’s cards that offer a 0% Intro APR* for balance transfers for 18 months.

Thanks for the info. I was cringing as I read this, as my husband and I just got a Citi card for the purpose of transferring a balance. Fortunately we got the last one you mentioned. We’re planning on paying it completely off before the interest rate kicks in, and we don’t plan on ever having a credit card balance again after that.

I have the dividend card that gives 5% rewards in the form of thankyou points for “everyday” purchases but the 5 % ended for me now that I passed twelve months. I am closing it and moving over to the professional card as it gives me 3% for everyday purchases with no time limit ( or at least until citi changes it for me
). Until then though – the professional card for me.

I have had a Citibank Driver’s Edge card for over ten years. Recently I received a letter saying that my Driver’s Edge card rewards would no longer be available after April 2011 and I would be receiving Thank You points instead. Have you heard about this?
