Update: - This card is no longer offered on this website. Please go to Citi's site to apply for this card. However, you can read our reviews here before you do so.

CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Visa® Summary - The CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Visa® will appeal to the small business owner who is also a frequent traveler on American Airlines. This card allows you and your employees to earn more AAdvantage points. Find out more......

Reward Formula - The CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® MasterCard® allows you to earn American Airline AAdvantage air miles. You earn 1 mile for every dollar spent on purchases. You can earn up to 150,000 miles in one calendar year. If you are an elite member, (ie AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum or AAdvantage Gold members), then you can earn unlimited miles. Miles do not expire as long as the account is active within 36 miles. Every quarter, cardholders will receive special offers call "Reduced Mileage" in which travel to certain destinations will require 7,500 points less than regular redemption levels. As an incentive, new cardholders are given a whopping 30,000 miles after the first $750 in spending on the card, which makes a free flight not too far away.

Annual Fee and APR - The annual fee is $75 (which is waived for the first year). There is no additional card fee and you can have up to 24 additional cards with credit limits set by you.

CitiBusiness AAdvantage Compared to the Gold And Bronz Consumer Version

Wherea the consumer version has the Bronz, Gold and Platinum Select Version, the AA business card has only one version. This version is essentially identical to the Platinum Select in both the annual fee, number of miles you can earn and also the "reduced mileage award".

Verus the Consumer Bronz Version - The AA Bronz version has no annual fee but only allows you to earn one mile for every two dollars that you spend. You can also only earn up to 25,000 miles if you are not an elite member. This business card version is clearly better than bronz version.

Versus the Consumer Gold Version - The Gold Version has a lower annual fee at $50. Despite the lower annual fee, you earn the same amount of miles (ie one mile for every dollar that you spend on the card). Non elite status members can earn up to 60,000 miles (versus 150,000 miles for this card). The annual "reduced mileage award" is also less at 5,000 miles. Despite all this, the fact that the Gold version has a lower fee and yet lets you earn the same miles means that you have to seriously consider the Gold version as well.

CitiBusiness AAdvantage Visa - This or the Gold Card

Verdict - The CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Visa® will be a good card for the small business owner who travels (or whose employee) travels frequently on American Airlines. Using the card will help to rack up faster miles. The advantage of this card over all the consumer versions is that non elite members can earn more miles. You can also earn more miles on your employees card and get quarterly and annual expense summary statement broken down by employees.

You also have to bear in mind that the bad thing about AA cards is that you cannot earn double miles. And therefore, if you are looking at this card, you should also consider the consumer gold version since it has a lower annual fee and you still earn one mile for every dollar that you spend. Another Alternative - Another alternative card that you might want to consider is the Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card because you can transfer points into AA miles at a one for one ratio. Furthermore, you can get 5,000 bonus miles when you transfer 20,000 starpoints into your AA account! The annual fee is $65 and you get to earn one point for every dollar that you spend. But if you stay at Starwood Hotels, you can earn up to 5 points!

Limited Time Opportunity - 100,000 Bonus Miles and 4 AA Flights

Right now, the British Airways Visa Signature is offering a 100,000 sign up bonus. The beauty of this for AA members is that you can use BA miles for AA flights - 25,000 miles equals one free domestic flight! So if you are looking for some free AA flights, take advantage of this deal now.
