How does the approval process happen when you apply for a credit card?

If you have bad credit and are in a hurry to get a credit card to start rebuilding your credit, there are cards that will approve you quickly. But you have to understand the approval process. When you apply for a credit card online, there are several possible approval time frame.

Instant Approval - If your credit report and score meet the necessary requirements, you can be approved instantly. If you apply for a prepaid credit card and your name, address, and SSN are correct, you will also be approved instantly.

Notified in 3 to 7 days - If your application needs further investigation, you will get a note (from the website and your email) saying that you will be notified of their decision in 3 to 7 days. The reason could be due to them requiring more investigation of your credit situation. Or some issuers simply do not approve you instantly.

When do you receive your credit card? - Bear in mind that even if you are approved instantly, it will still take a few days (3 to 7 days) for your credit card to be actually mailed to you.
