Default Citi Premierp***

Hi everyone

I have a question about the citi premierp*** card. I got the card because you can earn points from the miles you fly as well as the dollars you spend on the card. I made 4 trips within the last 2 months and used my premierp*** card to pay for my tickets. As a result, I have earned about 15,000 points (from the so-called number of miles that I have flown).

I thought that I had 15,000 points in my Thankyou account but was told that I had to earn an additional 15,000 points from "non-miles" before my "15,000 points that I have earned on my miles" will be transferred over. It will take me a while before I can earn those points as I do not charge 15,000 a month to my card!

Does anyone have experience with the premierp*** card and explain or share their experience? This is quite frustrating as I am not aware of the way points are earned and transferred. I am thinking whether I should continue using this card?

thanks

Julie

that is in the terms and conditions of the premierp*** card. The points you earn are seperated into flight points and regular points. You need to earn the same amount of regular points as your flight points before the flight points will be transferred into the thankyou network account.

I can understand why citi requires this rule. Otherwise, everyone will be just using the card for their airline ticket purchase and nothing else.

I have the premierp*** card as a personal card and it is great because you can earn points from the miles you fly. I believe no other card has this feature.

I guess the downside from the post here is that you have to also spend as much as the "flight points that you earn" relatively quickly otherwise it may take a long time before you get your flight points transferred over to the reward program.

Having said that, this is not an issue for me and I like this card.

that flight points + "normal points" can be a pain. But I can understand why citi is doing this. Otherwise, everyone will just use the citi pp for flights and say the diamond rewards for other stuff!
