Default Amex Platinum - should I get it or not?

I have had the amex gold card for years and now I have been offered the platinum card. I do travel quite a bit and there companion tickets when you buy business cl*** tickets. Am still thinking if it is worth getting it?

can anyone share their experience with the platinum card?

I was offered the platinum card for ages but decided not to take up the offer. Looks like the main attraction was the international flights and companion ticket if you fly business cl*** (pay full fare - not discounted fare). I can't imagine myself using the concierge service. I am sticking with the gold card for the air miles.

I fly business cl*** for international flights and think the free companion ticket is worth the annual fee alone. I have only used the concierge services a couple of times to suggest and book restaurants and they were ok.

Bear in mind that international flight partners may change from year to year so you have to watch out for that.

For me the companion tickets and airline lounge is worth the annual fee. Have not really used the concierge service other than for a couple of routine restaurant recommendations and bookings.

This card definitely works for me.

if you travel alot then it seems a good idea i mean you don't get nothing for free in this world but if you are using the card anyway then you may as well get something back for it

How extravagant are the fees? Do they justify the switch.
