How to get Capital One to work with me to pay off debt
I have been behind for several years..due to illness, and then the illness of my mom and her death. Well, to make a long story short...I have paid all my other cards off, when I called, I made an offer, for exampe, HSBC I owed $2,030 and I offered $1100(I had read you can do this)and they accepted. HOWEVER, when I got to Capital One, they said "no way" my account was in transition either to a lawyer or a collection agency or who knew where...and NO I had to pay all the $9732.46..so I have sent a letter restating my offer of paying 3/4 of this amount to settle..and have not heard back yet. Any ideas from anyone? I truly want to pay them, and can only pay them so much...thank you all!
