Debit cards will keep their spending in check. But if you want to start learning how to manage credit cards then you can get one, but only if you think you are responsible enough.

You can start building your credit score as well.

Three suggestions:
1. First, get a store card at a place like Macys, theyre easier to get. the interest rate is high, by a candy bar, pay it off. dont carry a balance on this card!!!!!!!!!!! pay off immediatley. have this for 1 year.
2. Check your credit score...
3. Become an authorized user or your parents credit card (one with great credit)
4. After a year, id reccommend american express blue(not the sudent one).
