American Express Platinum Benefits

I have been contacted a few times about getting this card and cannot get a straight answer from the amex people regarding some of the benefits.
1. I know you get club access at some of the airlines, but do you get ELITE frequent flyer status as well such as quick check-in, dedicated security line and priority boarding for some airlines?
2. If you only get one platinum card and keep your wife on the gold card, do her purcahses get the same rewards bonuses such as the 3X's points for the 1st year they are offering right now.

Its expensive but could prove usefull in the future with the companion feature and other items. any insights are appreciated.
