I have a couple of cards that I carry and use regularly, AMEX Blue and BP Visa.
I am wondering if it would be a good idea to also carry a Mastercard, just in case. Maybe if the two cards I was carrying were Mastercard and Visa, I wouldn't feel the need for a third card, since everyone takes these cards. However, since one of my two that I carry is an AMEX, and AMEX is not as widely accepted as Mastercard or Visa, perhaps I am leaving myself too thinly protected if I rely only on the Visa as a backup, in case AMEX is not accepted. What do other people think about this third card? What do others do?? |

I also carry the amex blue cash and amex platinum. There were more than a few occasions where stores do not accept amex. So I also carry the chase flexible rewards visa...
I think you are safe with the bp visa. I've never come across a store or place that never accepts visa. |

For the last 2 years, I have been using mainly the blue cash as I really liked the cash rebate I earned. I earn more with this card than the citi dividend or the chase freedom card.
I got upgraded to the platinum card last year. The only reason I upgraded was to actually experience the card for myself so I could write about it. Afterall, I am Mr Credit Card! I have written a couple of blog post on my experience with the amex platinum..you can check them out here ; http://askmrcreditcard.com/creditcar...n-ticket-test/ http://askmrcreditcard.com/creditcar...st-experience/ So presently, I am defintely not optimizing my use of my cards - especially in the area of cash rebates. But this is solely to test out the platinum card. |
