Default Corporate/Business Cards

Unfortunately, my husband and I had to choose between credit card payments and rent when he lost his job, we also have lots of dependents. My question is, if I change jobs and am expected to hold a company Corporate or Small business card in my own name, with an issuer such as American Express, who I personally have defaulted with, will my application for an additional company card be rejected on these grounds and have an adverse impact on my employment?

I would expect many other people are in my situation or are going to be in my situation, do we expect companies like American Express to bend the rules in this case? Also, do other issuers have the same policy as American Express (personal default prevents corporate additional card issuance?).

Thanks!
