Default business credit cards for personal credit report

I think I made a mistake a few years ago with regard to my business/personal credit. I had a personal credit card thru CityBank which switched me over to a business account (without my authorization by the way) when they sold out in 2005. Unbeknownst to me, they stopped reporting to my personal credit. Similarily, I use a CapitalOne card exclusively for my small business and they report seperately to Equifax Small Business.

The long and short is that I went from a score above 780, to 0 because none of this activity was showing up in my personal credit history! (I know, my bad in not checking my credit score regularily) In my personal credit report with Equifax, there are no negative accounts, problems with payment or collections- just no activity since I paid off a car loan in 2000. My credit is perfect except no score.

I have a 22 year credit history and suddenly I have to start from scratch??
Any suggestions? Can I add my business activity to my personal history somehow? (after all I am personally liable for the payments and fees on both my "business" cards as I understand it) As a sole proprieter I report with my SSN.

Advanta uses your SSN, personal FICO and credit report for determining whether to give you a credit card. It is interesting that they don't report to the personal credit bureaus.

Default business for personal credit report

If your a sole proprietorship or have fewer than 20 employee's there is a serious chance that your personal credit will be affected.

Bankkruptcy depends on how your business was structured. If you were structured as a DBA you you might be on the hook. If you structured as a LLC then your personal ***ets are safe.
