Default Do you have to use them....

Do you have to use your miles within a certain time-frame? What happens if you don't use them?

At least with the frequent flyer miles, you either add miles into it or use the miles, to keep your account "live". Otherwise you'll loose the miles. But it is a matter of maybe putting more miles on it with other services, like renting a car, or staying at a hotel, or whatever they offer.

I think there is a time limit on how long you can hold onto your miles. It wouldn't make good business sense for those miles to be available for over 18 months.

Dependant on the plan most cards have a time limit where miles expire unless you meet some sort of requirement.

Before there was a 3 year time frame when you either used the miles or loose them. I have to check it out again, and see what is the deal, precisely because I don't want to risk loosing the miles I have ac***ulated!
