Default starwood or not?

I have read about using starwood card for airmiles from this site and a couple of other sites. Does anyone have experience with this? any thoughts and opinions?

I am presently a frequent flyer member of UA, Continental and US Airways though I have been travelling less frequently. Presently have the Amex Gold Card. Was wondering if I should get the starwood card, which has lower annual fee?

thanks

I moved from Germany years ago. I used the Starwood credit card because I can transfer points to Lufthansa miles (one for one ratio). You can also transfer points to continental, us airways and united miles (I believe)..

This is the first time I hear about Starwood card! When I had my AMEX cl***ic, I transfered my points to American Airlines and United Airlines. But now I only have AMex Blue, and keep earning points with traveling.

Is the Starwood card one that is specifically geared toward frequent flyers? How does it work?
