7 years! Charlie, are you saying that if you stop payments for 7 years on a credit card debt, that the credit card debt disappears and goes away forever? Does this really mean that the bank or collection agency cannot request payment anymore after 7 years of non-payment and non-use of that credit card? I want to believe this! Is there anyplace where this is written down? A law, or guideline, or something.
I really need to know. I am 72 and my wife max'd out 10+ credit cards and signed my name on them. They are now hounding me for payment. The 7 years sounds good since I only have my pensions and 401K and do not care about my credit rating.

Ugh, stop peddling bullsh*t!!!!!!!!!! So sick and tired of "financial experts" spouting nonsense about your credit score, as if that is some sort of blue ribbon we all have stamped on our headstones at the end of our lives. F*ck it, you tried your best didn't work out, that's it, the end. WALK AWAY. Life is meant to be LIVED to the fullest extent possible. Do you think bank executives are going to send flowers to your mother's funeral for being such a good life long customer? NO, they are soulless institutions after your money. That's it. The end. Banks can't come after you and cut off your legs or throw you in jail, you can always rent a house, and buy a cheap car to get you from a to b. It makes me so sad to hear and see so many people buying into the BS that we as divine and incredible human beings have to live our lives as slaves to certain finanical and government institutions. Walk away, learn from your mistakes, don't get into debt again, and in 7 years, your credit rating will be like it never happened, all because the banks are hoping you'll fall for the same BS all over again. Financial planners are part of the system meant to keep us all slaves.
