This Week’s Carnival Summary

by Mr Credit Card

This week, Five Cent Nickel hosted the 85th Carnival of Personal Finance. This is probably one of the largest finance carnival, with lots of posts and submissions. Among all, I thought that the Beware : 0% APR Game by Money Blog was a great reminder as to when not to play the 0% balance transfer game. Lots have been written about it (even myself). But most of the articles tells you how to do it. Martin at Money Blog tells you when not to do it. Check this out before you go 0% APR crazy.

No Credit Needed hosted the 72nd Carnival of Debt Reduction. My favourite post in this carnival was from Mighty Bargain Hunter who warns you off deferred interest payment deals from retailers. Read what he has to say before jumping into those deals.

MOney Matters and More Musing hosted the 59th Festival of Frugality. One post that caught my eye was Free Air Miles by Stingy Student. In this article, Stingy Student pointed to a few resources on how to earn free air miles even when you are not flying. This caught my interest because I travel quite a bit and also because I review frequent flyer credit cards.

Finally, Credit Card Lowdown again hosted the 3rd Carnival of Credit Cards. The post that really caught my eye was by Will Chen at Wise Bread who writes a detailed account of a man who tears up his credit card application form, fills it out, mail it, and gets APPROVED!. You simply have to check this one out!.

Anyway, these are my picks of the week from the carnivals which I participated this week.
