		<description>Having been laid-off twice in the last decade, I can tell you from experience, that there is no substitute for having money put away.

To not have to worry about losing your house or feeding your kids when your job disappears is a feeling that can&#039;t be described in a blog comment.  And, trying to live on a credit card is no substitute for having some real money.

Yes, debt sucks.  And yes, the interest from debt robs people of their earnings.  But, not having any money put away is a far worse situation to be in.

I&#039;m not a big Suzy fan, but I vote for the emergency fund.</description>
