		<description>If you&#039;re in a position to, it certainly would be better to pay of any credit card debt before you buy a home.  Once you purchase a home there are always added expenses which come up such as repairs, water rates, electricity, land rates.  Not to mention what a rise in interest rates could do.  If you can it is always better to put yourself in the best possible situation to begin.</description>

		<description>Cap of Stop Buying Crap used to track his credit score all the time and when he paid off his 0% balance transfer arbitrage balance, his score went up significantly. It was a dozen or so points higher than when he did the transfer in the first place (since he had shown a year of payments). Paying off debt definitely helps.</description>
