@ Tim, Thanks for your comment. I use the UPromise / Vanguard combo because it's easy, I trust Vanguard, and also because it's a way to get free money back on items that I buy anyway. Normal 529 plans don't give you "free money back" on everyday purchases.

@ Patty - Thanks for your comment too! I am so excited to hear that you were able to save that much money for your grandchildren! Wow! I hope I can do that for my daughter - getting that amount back plus our regular deposits, would be wonderful. I am glad to hear that you aren't having any trouble with the toolbar. It could be happening to me because I use Flock - a spinoff of Firefox to browse...usually most things work better with Internet explorer...I may try installing the toolbar that way and see if it works.

My husband and I have been Upromise members for 1-1/2 years. Our daughter has a 6 year old and 2 year old triplets. We've managed to contribute $1500 without really trying. I use the toolbar but don't have your problem. It takes me to the link I want and flashes my percentage at the top of the page to let me know the site is a Upromise partner and it recognizes me. Couldn't be easier!
