My fiance and I have a Amex Platinum and had an $800 credit for American Airways. It was past the due date to use the credit but in the end if you are a good customer and make a big enough deal about it they give you what you deserve. We ended up using the credit and booking two flights to the Bahamas. If you have another card with them other than a business amex, show them your record and maybe they could work something out.
