the economic recession made a lot of workers jobless. my best friend and me lost our jobs because of job cuts. i hope that our economy would recover soon.

Yes, my savings plan has changed. Instead of investing in short term CDs I am now going for the longer term because the rates are better. However, the downside to this is — when the rates increased I will still be locked into the longer term CDs. One way, I have structured my finances for this is to keep a portion in a money market account. Those funds would have normally been place in a CD too, but this is the best situation for me right now.
