Thanks to all; I came back to a real world. It has been annoying me for a year now since I became a card member. I have tried to respect Amex or should I say the effort and money for each package.. , but anyway since I replied once as everybody says “though I don’t believe..”, the mails have been arriving twice a month. This time with flight ticket offer, looks like real, but I understand how the trick would work as somebody shared here. I was almost about to send the flight ticket request form, but now I tear them into garbage..

I’ll also call Amex to ask stop sending this kind of packages, if not I’ll consider to cancel my credit card from Amex. Because it makes me feel really uncomfortable if I have to ignore mails from credit card company because this kind of stuff… Something is wrong inside there.

oh man! Yes, I got it today. Not sure if I should believe it. I got it 6 times in the past 2.5 years ever since I have Amex Card. I never replied it. Sometimes I tend to think it may be real. But after reading all these posts, its confirmed that its a hoax.

Can’t believe reputed company like Amex doing all these cheap tricks to grab biz

I get it each month also I cancel the book but I am still receiving the book each month I I need to pay to return it yesterday I cancel it again, I will see. Somebody knows any person that won $1000000?

I received a total 4 of such mails within a week–it certainly shows how desperate these people are. Here are two questions on my mind:

1. Is Amex willing to see its reputation going down to the drain by those sort of scam?
2. Shouldn’t the govermment/congress take some action to stop the shameless action?

yes I got them and foolishly replied to all of them. Nieve to think it could be real, but hoped it was nonetheless. It’s a shame that we are so trusting in such things. And it’s a shame that they are allowed to be so deceptive and dishonest. The Government allows this and so many more cons the credit card companies are allowed to pull on the unsuspecting public (don’t get me started), which is one of the reasons we are in such financial turmoil. The Government is to blame, but then why do they care, they don’t have to comply by the same rules us normal suckers do.

I have been receiving these as well, and very disappointed in AMEX for this tacky practice. They should know better.

Two things:
1 As members, call and write to complain about this issue, if enough of their clients do it they will have to stop . I did. Here is their phone number 212.382 5600 General Inquiries for American Express publishing or their consumer marketing person at 212.382 5748

Is their Publishing division desperate for business or what?!, if so, they should think / hire a better marketing team….

I just received one of these mailings for the first time. I’ve only been a AmEx member for 6 months so I’m sure this is only the beginning. The deadline states 09/30/2010 so it looks like nobodies won YET!

The prizes are exactly the same as the original post, however the subscription is now “Skyguide” and has been cut from 12 issues to 10 with only 1 free issue for $65, with an opt-out recurring fee of $69/year.

Add me to the list of people that can’t believe AmEx would officially support a scam like this, also it appears they have been sued in the past for not paying out prizes.

I just got the info today. There is a checkbox on the back that allows you a chance to not subscribe and recive the mags. Looks like publisher clearing house stuff. They have no way to sign up online.??????????????
