Answer – The way to do it is to go to the credit card issuers site. In the case of BP, the issuer is Chase. Simply log on to your account.

What if you do not have a login and password? – Well, simply register and create a new login and password. You will most likely be asked your credit card number (which you should have). From there, most credit card websites have pretty clear instructions on how to pay online.

If you are not sure which bank is the issuer (which can be the case with store credit cards), then check your last statement. Your statements should contain information about websites to log on into your account.

Additional information – Once you are in the web site, the only additional information you need are your bank account number and the routing number (found on your check).

Pay in Full, Set Amount or Minimum Balance – You can also set up autopay so that money is automatically deducted from your bank account every month. You should be able to set it to either pay in full (PIF), paying a set amount or minimum balance. You should preferably pay in full.

Paying from your bank – Another way to pay your credit card is to actually pay online from your banking account. If your bank allows you to set up autopay, the procedures are the same as if you set it up with your credit card company.

My preference? – Personally, my credit cards are all autopay set up with the credit card companies themselves. That way, it is clearly their fault if any payment does not go through (unless your bank has no money!).
