While going to google’s homepage today, I noticed that they have a new service called the Google Checkout.

This is a service that allows you to shop with partner merchants of google using just one login and password. All you have to do is to input your credit card number with google and off you go. The advantage of this service is that with just one login and password, you can track all your shopping and shipping information at one place. As an incentive to sign up, google is giving you $10 just to sign up and test their service.

Google has also create a nice little video tour of the service. Upon further investigation, I found out that google has signed up quite a few merchant partners.

Them as I scrolled down the page which list all their merchant partners, I also noticed that Google has made an arrangement with Citibank cardholders. Cardholders of Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card will earn 5 Dividend Dollars after using google checkout for the first time. If you hold a Citicard with the ThankYou Network Redemptions reward program, you will get 1,000 points for using google checkout the first time. So if you are a holder of say the Citi Premierpass card, you will get $10 plus 1,000 thankyou points the first time you use google checkout.

You do have to sign up by 15th of February and bonuses are only valid if you use google checkout the first time by 31st of March.

It looks like a very interesting service and concept that google is offering. I would like to hear what you all think about this.
