First Baseball Game for My Son
by Mr Credit CardToday is the first baseball game that my eldest son participated in (he is in second grade). He started getting interested in baseball last year and both Mrs Credit Card and myself decided to enroll him in the league. The weather has not been too kind lately and the team merely had three practices.
The venue of the game was at a park that was just across my house (very convenient). The team that my son was in was called the Cubs. They were playing against the Oreos. The first inning went off to a bright start. The first three batters for the Oreos all hit the ball, but the Cubs played them out. They then went on to get five home runs just after the first innings! They patterned continued and by the end of the game, the score was 13-8. My son did not get a home run, but he was still happy nevertheless.
Right now, he is bugging me to take him to a Philly game constantly and also to buy him baseball memorabilias. It is something that I guess I have to consider and work on. It is moments like these that I wished I had Major League Baseball™ Extra Bases™ Credit Card, where I could use points for these ‘baseball items’. But I dont’t, so I guess I just have to be selective in getting him a few stuff and hopefully, get some good seats to the Philly game.

Most little leagues name their team after real baseball teams.
Judging by the hat the kids are wearing in the picture, I think I see a red C on the blue hat, and your description, your son probably plays for the Major League Baseball equivalent of the Chicago Cubs (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/). Your son was probably playing against a team named after the Baltimore Orioles (http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/) not the “Oreos”.
Good seats to the Phillies (http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/) shouldn’t be too hard to get. If you don’t mind sitting a little farther away you can get tickets for $15. Most of the time, you can get to your seat, wait until about the third inning to see what seats are not taken and move closer.
Looking at the schedule, the Phillies actually play the Cubs at the beginning of May (May 11th, 12th and 13th). Most teams offer group discounts or discounts for kids so you might want to look into that as well.

I would like to know if I can use this image in advertising piece. It would be a post card and say something to the effect of “Why use the second string” or something along those lines. I’m thinking since there is no clear shot of any faces - his “minor” league reputation will not be hurt. I love kids baseball and my boss is a huge baseball fan. That’s what prompted the search for baseball photos…
Let me know.
Great picture by the way. Good luck on the baseball tickets.
