Carnivals and Favourite Posts for the Last Two Weeks
I was away last weekend at a conference in Orlando and did not have time to do the usual weekly roundup on my carnival participation. So here is a long (or rather longer) two week summary on carnivals and posts that I enjoyed. There were two carnivals that really stood out this week in terms of the effort put into it.
2 Great Carnivals This Week
Firstly, Lazy Man and Money stopped being lazy as the host of the 62nd Festival of Frugality and came up with a baseball theme that was really cool. I was honored to have my post on How to save money when buying a car as one of his favorite post. This was one of the best carnivals I have seen and you should really check it out. One of the post (card related off course) that I think you should check out is Cheap Movie Tickets, Target and Other Discounts using the AAA Card by the Frugal Duchess. I also enjoyed Golburu’s view of whether it is easier to be frugal when you are single?.
Over at eFipo.com was the “Plane of Excitement Edition of the Under 30 Carnival of PF whereby he had a theme about how it is like during an airline flight. Though this was a great carnival, my post unfortunately appeared at the very end, sort of like being given the last seat on the plane! But check out this carnival as it is really creative.
The Rest
The Carnival of 30s and 40s Personal Finance is relatively new and this week’s 3rd Edition was hosted by making our way. I submitted a post about how I use a CPA to do may taxes and not waste my time on trying to understand tax matters. The Frugal Duchess also wrote a similar post on 10 Tips for Hiring a Tax Expert.
In this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance hosted by Stock Market Beat, I contributed a post about how I chose my fund for my new 401K Plan. Savvy Steward contributed another related post on the basics of getting one set up and running. You should check out his post.
The previous week, 2 Million Blog hosted the 87th Carnival of Personal Finance. As usual, there are lots of posts in this carnival. I can’t really pick a favorite from this one, so just head over and check it out. Tricia from Blogging Away Debt hosted the 74th Carnival of Debt Reduction. One post from the carnival that I really enjoyed is from Wise Bread. I won’t elaborate on it too much but it is about attitudes that lead to debt. Head over and check out the post.
The Hustler Money Blog was the host of the 61st Festival of Frugality. One of the post that I enjoyed was from The Digerati Life who wondered if mail-in rebates are worth the hassle. I think you will enjoy this one.
Meanwhile, Credit Card Lowdown hosted the 4th Edition of the Carnival of Credit Cards. This is a relatively new carnival with quite a few practical credit card tips.

Thanks for referencing my article on mail-in rebates!
Yes the last two weeks have been particularly long ones for me too. But at least you went to a conference. I had to face preschool and kiddy parties ;).
