Cancel Amex Gold and Keep Amex Costco?

I am interested in switching primarily to receive a rebate and avoid the yearly fee . My questions is two fold: First does the card offer all the “typical ” American Express coverage , and secondly can you still participate in the membership rewards program with the True Earnings card ?? Answer – Well, first let answer the second part of the question. No, you cannot link membership rewards to the Costco Card.
Secondly, with regards to the “typical Amex coverage”, I’m afraid that the Costco Business Card lags behind the other Amex Cards. Let’s verify this. The Costco Business Card has insurance coverage – which covers your purchases (which should be the same as the “purchase protection” feature found in your Gold Card and also “travel insurance”).

So basically, you will be giving up earning membership reward points in return for earning cash rebates on gas, travel and dining from the Costco Card (and many other perks as well). Hope this will help you make a more informed decision.
