Disgraceful AMEX ! Latest spoof / scam – witholding acceptance on payment; item identified as ” suspected fraudulent transaction” for purchasing airline tickets. Upon speaking to AMEX advised thus ” we will let the transaction go through but only if you make a payment to us immediately from your debit card !!!”. So, 30 day credit gimmick not in operation, just a very pricey Debit Card – disgraceful….

I just got my AMEX Platinum statement, and noticed they charged me $40.00 for assistance for booking airline tickets. What the heck is the point of paying $450.00 per year for the card f they charge you 10% of that cost each time you take advantage of one of the touted “benefits” of the Platinum card? At this point, I’m seriously considering dumping the Platinum card, as I just may not be traveling enough to justify the so-called benefits. (They can keep Departures magazine)….
