I fly US Airways for the business. Now that they have merged with AA, that would be even better. I try to charge everything to the card so I earn maximum points. What I do like is the companion ticket certs that I use once a year with my family. There are quite a few quirks which you have to be aware of. But this card works for me.

I got this card a couple years ago when there was some 40k promo and the stewardess actually got me a form to fill. Took over a month for me to get approved. I never liked paying annual fees for cards but the companion ticket is the thing that adds value (for me anyway).

With 5k off rewards, the 2 for 1 $99 companion cert, this card works for me since I fly US Airways at once every 2 months. I charge everything to the card.

Did not get my companion tickets sometimes on time. Always had to call CSR and let us just say that there are much better service out there.

Had a couple of hiccups with this card. Firstly, I did not understand the rules of the companion ticket clearly and that they had blackout dates. But once I got it, I managed to book them with no problems. The 10k PM got deposited late into my account once and I had to make a call to CSR. It was rectified but I thought I should not have had to even make that call. The perks are good if you fly US Air. If you do not, then this is not the card for you.

Since I spend more than $25k a year on the card, I get 10k preferred miles deposited into my account. It has been happening like clockwork every year and this is my favorite feature. The 2-1 $99 companion certs are also really helpful although I had to plan my vaca around some of their blackout dates.

Since I spend $25k a year on the card, the extra 10k PM is a real treat. Made elite status last year even though I came up slightly short.

I like the extra 10k preferred miles that I get after spending $25000 a year. What is often not mentioned is that once you reach that spending threshold, any award ticket processing fee is waived. So you should time your booking, anniversary date to take this into consideration. Obviously, the reduced 5k award and companion tickets are great as well.

Really got this card because of the companion ticket. But did not realize that you cannot use it to fly to Alaska or Hawaii (which is a real bummer).

I have been very pleased with this card and the customer service and never had any troubles at all. The only snag is that recently, they did not post my preferred miles (the 10k) after about 8 weeks after I met my $25k spend. I felt it was too long and called CSR. It was resolved promptly.

What is often mentioned is the lounge pass perk which I truly enjoyed. You get a free pass to the lounge a year and also a $75 discount to purchase an annual pass to the lounge. For a FF like me, this is a great perk. I also like checking in the first class counter as it saves me time (especially for international flights). Off course, the companion ticket, reduced 5k award and 10k preferred miles also make this a great card.

Best perk is the companion ticket followed by the 10k PF. CSR has always been pleasant and just speaking for myself, I have never had an issue with the companion tickets.

I am always in a rush to the airport. Sometimes, I forget to do the internet check in thing. So the ability to use the card and check in at first class counters help. Have been happy with CSR so far (though I have only called them a couple of times).

In my opinion, the extra 10k preferred miles could be improved. If you compared this to the Delta Reserve (which I used to have), you get 30k MQMs (if I recall correctly) if you meet 460k spend. That is enough for a silver elite status. Obviously we are comparing a apples and oranges because there is big difference between a $60k spend vs $25k. But maybe US Air and Barclays could arrange it such that an additional $25k spend (ie $50k) gets you another 10k PM. That is my wish list. But otherwise, I only have positive things to say about this card.

There was one particular year where I had difficulty getting the seats and flight I wanted for the companion ticket. It turns out that I was trying to book it on one of their blackout dates. I also found out that you must book roundtrips and not one ways. That means no multi-stops as well. But once I became aware of these, things have worked out fine since then. The lounge pass is one of my favorite perk aside from companion ticket.

I like this card with all the benefits. This will only make sense if you fly US Air all the time. But I have been less impressed with their CSR (more like Barclays). I did not think they were as knowledgeable as they should be about the card features. They had to keep me on hold when I had questions about the companion ticket.

I have been pleased with this card. However, I will be changing jobs and anticipate that I will not fly very much. Hence, I'll probably part with this card soon. I've got the Barclays Arrival instead and think that will be my main card soon. Overall, I think Barclays does an OK job on the customer service front. But nothing matches Amex (have the gold card).

FF cards are only for those who fly a particular airline almost exclusively. If you fly US Airways and a lot, then this card is mad e for you. If you only fly it once in a while, then you are better off with another non airline affiliated card.

I used to have the Bank of American version but they discontinued it. I find that this one by Barclays is much better in terms of the features (I guess it had to improve since many cards were giving new features as well). I really like the extra 10k PM you could get and also the first class check in. And off course the companion ticket. I also prefer the Barclays CSR over BOA.

I got this card initially for the bonus miles (40k I think). What I did not realize was the I was only getting 30k while the other 10k had to be gotten by transferring $10k over from another card. So I ended up with only 30k which was a bit of a disappointment because I always paid in full with my cards and have never carried a balance. I was going to cancel this card after 1 year but just before I did, I got a new job which requires quite a bit of travel. And I ended up flying a lot on US Airways. To cut a long story short, this card has been good to me ever since.

First class counter check in, 2 for 1 companion ticket certs and 10k preferred miles on $25k spend does the trick for me. I can't be bothered with things like zone 2 boarding (which does not really mean a lot). I also like browsing book stores so lounge perks do not resonate with me.

I applied and actually got approved for the platinum version rather than the premier world mastercard version and was not too happy about it. I did not really want the lower version because the sign up bonus was lower. CSR said they could not do anything about it.

During the first year of my card, I had some trouble with the companion ticket cert. It was partly my fault because I did not read the terms and conditions. I found out that you could only book economy class and it had to be a round trip. You also have to use both on the same trip (no splitting them up). After getting the hang of using it, it is the best feature of this card. I also like the extra 10k preferred miles since I do reach the spending requirements.

I got this when the air stewardess gave me a form to apply. Then, it took ages for the card to arrive. When it did, the sign up bonus did not post promptly and I had to make a few calls to customer service. That was not a very pleasant experience. All I can say is that you should apply online instead. After using the card for a while, I began to appreciate the features. You have to be aware of them and use it.

If I look at this card objectively, the features are actually pretty good. I got this for the annual companion ticket. But I found out that you cannot use that to fly to Hawaii and Alaska. Since my parents live in Hawaii and I fly there once a year, that would have saved me quite a bit. But as I cannot use it for this, I have canceled the card. It's not really anybody's fault. But it just does not work for me.

I have had this for 3 years and previously had the BOA version. The Barclays version is definitely better. I used pretty much all the features and especially appreciated the companion certs, first class check in. As a FF, the extra 10k PM helped as well. A change in career now means that I hardly fly. So I have switched to the Barclays Arrival, which works out well since I could use still points for my family travel.

I fly US Airways. So I've always had their cards (both BOA and Barclays). I would say that as long as you are a true frequent flyer with US Air, then this is the best card you could get to make your flying experience better. I also combine this card with the SPG Amex (where you could also transfer Starpoints to Dividend Miles). I have never had any real issues with Barclays so cannot really comment other than giving them a four star rating because I have never called them?

was quite surprised by the bonus miles deal. I applied when there was the 50k deal going on. Little did I realize that you get 40k but you need to do a balance transfer of $10k to get the other 10k miles. Quite deceptive if you asked me. Who has such deals except Barclays?

I really love this card. Barclays has been great in terms of customer service. The perks are also great compared to some over hundred dollar annual fee FF cards. Companion ticket, 10k preferred miles based on spending, first class check in and lounge benefits. If you fly this airline, then this is the card to get. You obviously have to pay in full every month or the interest will cancel out the miles you earn.

Don't care much about the lounge pass and discounts. I hang out at Hudson's bookstore at the airport gates. But the 10k preferred miles is great, as in the 2 for 1 companion certs (except on one occasion when I wanted to use them for a Hawaii flight but found out that I could not).

There are lots of perks with this card. Some matter to me, some do not. For example, I hang out at Hudson's bookstore near the gates. So lounge pass does not do me good (like some of the posters here). I do not care for first class counter check in as well since I always do the internet check in although I did that once on an international flight (which was nice). For me, the companion ticket is the key feature which pays for this card.

Have had US Airways card for years. Have the BOA, then the Barclays. I stopped flying US Airways and flying in general two years ago. However, I still keep this card since I have lots of miles in my dividend account and want to keep it current. I would say that the best perks are the companion ticket and the 10k PM that you get. The reduced 5k award that you get now are great too. I intend to keep this card for a while.

I fly US Air and this is the most natural card to get. I have read some negative reviews on Barclays customer service but I have been pleased with them so far. The perks are all geared to someone who flies the airlines and wants to earn elite status. For the casual flyer, there are better no fee cards out there.

Prior to getting this card, I had an old Juniper card. I have read many online complaints about Juniper. There are also threads on other forums about folks getting only the Platinum version and not the Premier MasterCard version (which has more perks). However, my experiences with Juniper and Barclays have been great. Granted that my credit score is good (high 700s with TU) and I pay in full every month. For me, the companion ticket and extra 10k of preferred miles seals the deal for me.

The companion ticket (2 for 1) saves me a good few hundred dollars a year on my family vacation. That itself pays for card. I also use the discounts to get my annual lounge pass. Twice I had flight delays and I happen to be at airports with the US Air Lounge and that was really cool to be able to hang out there.

This card helps me to achieve silver status because of the extra 10k preferred miles you get when you spend $25k on the card. I was at about 16k last year, 9k short of silver. But the extra 10k I had bumped me up. Pretty pleased with it. So yes, the card did help me get elite status and there were some nice perks and one upgrade which I was very happy about.
