First a brief history of HSBC Banks' entry into the credit card space in the US. Their credit card portfolio is what it is today because they bought Household Bank and acquired their credit cards. Prior to that, Household Bank took over Orchard Bank and acquired Orchard Banks' sub-prime cards. Hence, unlike many major issuers, you will find HSBC credit cards geared towards those with both good and bad credit. Below are their credit card line up.
Orchard Bank Classic MasterCards - Island The Orchard Bank Classic MasterCards is perhaps the best credit card to get if you have bad credit or no credit. When you apply for the card, you will be pre-approved for either their secured credit card or one of their unsecured credit cards. Unlike other sub-prime credit cards, Orchard Bank has the most reasonable fees among their competitors.

Orchard Bank Visa Cards Orchard Bank also offers a Visa version called the Orchard Bank Visa Cards, where has the same features as the MasterCard version.
